Versaille says, “My work grounds itself in the investigative process of deconstructing one’s own perception of memory. Exploring ways in which subjective timelines can birth isolated dimensions of truth.

I take interest in the multiplicitous nature of how each life is experienced and how messily they entangle themselves. In these crossing dimensions, the absurd and macabre are plucked out and placed under trials of reconfiguration until they morph into exaggerated versions of their former selves.”

Core Dance invites YOU — filmmakers and choreographers from around the world to submit their short films for the upcoming season of enCore: Dance on Film.

On Friday, September 11 from 7–10 PM, Burlington City Arts’ Community Room will transform for Interstitial Yoko Dreams, an immersive evening of sound, film, and visual art 🌀

Inspired by Andy Warhol’s multimedia happenings, the event pairs Craig Mitchell’s original Yoko Ono remixes with artist video projections curated from the Media Factory and John Killacky.

Among the featured films is body of water, created by longtime collaborators Sue Schroeder and Christian Meyer for Global Water Dances 2023. Filmed in the 50°F waters of Stößensee in Berlin, the work explores the many ways water connects with and informs our human nature while drawing attention to environmental concerns affecting Berlin’s waterways 🌊

Through movement and film, body of water reflects the larger mission of Global Water Dances, which brings artists together around the world to inspire awareness and action surrounding water preservation and conservation.

If you’re in Burlington for Art Hop, stop by, take in the projections and sound, and experience body of water alongside work from more than 20 participating artists!

As enCore 2026 draws to an end, we’re spotlighting one final can’t-miss film! 🎥

“The Gift” from director Mikki Sindhunata is a slow, sensorial exploration of isolation, vulnerability, and the complicated human need for connection.

Alesya (34) lives alone in a remote house and has made a ritual of spending her birthday in complete solitude. But this year, the day takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious box appears at her doorstep.

Inside is something she cannot explain: a living, sentient hybrid being. Suspicious at first, Alesya allows it to stay. What begins as an uneasy coexistence slowly develops into an intimate and ambiguous relationship, blurring the boundaries between human and object, closeness and control.

As the being settles into her space, it begins to disrupt the routines that have long protected Alesya from the outside world. In its quiet presence, emotions she has carefully kept at a distance begin to surface.

This September, REEL Art returns to the storefront windows of Core Dance with Access Point – Work In Progress, a film installation by Adam Larsen in collaboration with Sue Schroeder 🌱

Access Point (full-length premiere anticipated in 2028) is a one-hour immersive documentary exploring the relationship between disability, accessibility, and the natural world.

Following individuals with a range of disabilities through hiking trails, beaches, forests, rivers, and other outdoor spaces, the work brings attention to the barriers that can limit access to nature while highlighting experiences of connection, resilience, community, and empowerment 🙌🏻

Presented through REEL Art, the film installation series brings this conversation into the heart of Downtown Decatur from September 1st through 30th.
