Ontario Premier Doug Ford doubled down on his call for President Trump to “Kiss my a**” on Monday, hours after Trump announced potential 50% tariffs on Canadian-made cars, trucks, and auto parts beginning next year.

“I have a lot of real estate on my a**,” Ford told reporters in Hamilton, Ontario, on Monday. “So he has a lot of room to kiss my a**.”

Ford went on to deliver jabs at Trump, including claiming to have “more courage, more brains in my baby toe than he has in his [Trump’s] whole body.” Ford also compared Trump to a school bully that would steal a classmate’s lunch money, shoes, and toque — the Canadian term for a winter hat.

“You think an insult from him hurts me?” Ford said. “Well, bring it on, buddy. I'm ready. Bring it on.”

Ford said that everything was “on the table” in terms of how Ontario would retaliate, including a 25% surcharge on electricity shipments from the province: something Ontario has imposed before during previous trade disputes.

Trump responded to Ford’s threats on Truth Social, referring to the Ontario premier as “the less charismatic, intelligent, and overall unimpressive brother of the late, great, Rob Ford,” the infamous former mayor of Toronto who died of cancer in 2016.

“Without the United States, Canada couldn’t survive — It’s where they get all of their money,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “And, because of their current bad leadership, primarily Governor Carney, and his Flunky, Ford, they will not be allowed to keep taking advantage of the United States — Their key to survival.”

Trump and Doug Ford have come into conflict before. Last year, Ford commissioned a political advertisement that ran in the U.S. that quoted Ronald Reagan’s 1987 speech against tariffs to promote free trade between the two countries.

Trump claimed that the ad misquoted Reagan and announced that he would end "all trade negotiations" with Canada after it aired.
