Our priorities for the year ahead as we work together to build stronger Locals and a stronger District Council and a more active membership.

Rally in support of Painters working at Cherry Coatings in Rockdale County! Cherry Coatings must respect workers rights, not intimidate workers when they speak out! And local governments have a responsibility to their taxpayers to hire RESPONSIBLE CONTRACTORS! Thank you to all our community and labor allies who came out in support of these workers today! When workers and communities stand together we are at our strongest!

Congratulations to Local 1940’s newest members, William McMahon, John Henry, Riley Ard, and Mario Celis. Excited to welcome these Glaziers to DC77!

Today our Local 1940 Glaziers held their FIRST-EVER Steward Training Class.

The class was led by our BMST and Local 1940’s Business Representative as we start a steward program for our Glaziers.

We also had a great day of hands-on training as Glaziers completed Forklift & Telehandler Training led by 1940’s President and instructor Gerald Anderson.

Our union is strongest when our members are empowered to lead. Every steward we train builds stronger Locals, and every member we train becomes more skilled and marketable, strengthening our industry and helping us BUILD UNION POWER across District Council 77.

Today, the Savannah Regional Central Labor Council joins our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honoring the extraordinary courage of the first responders, workers, union members, and everyday Americans who answered the call to help.

Twenty-five years later, we remember not only the tragedy of that day, but also the courage, sacrifice, and unity that followed.

May we continue to honor their memory by standing together, caring for one another, and never forgetting.
