Come hear the latest up to date information on hydroponics!
Hosted by UGA DeKalb County Extension, Southern SARE, and the UGA Center for Urban Agriculture. Join experts for a half-day Hydroponics Symposium focused on practical approaches to hydroponic production, troubleshooting, and integrating hydroponic systems into your operation. Learn about hydroponic production systems, nutrient management, water quality variety selection, plant breeding, and strategies for managing insect pests and diseases. Participants will also have an opportunity to explore different hydroponic models and engage with speakers during a Q&A session.

Whether it was tackling outdoor challenges, learning new skills, or just laughing under the summer sun, these 4‑H’ers truly made this camp unforgettable. Egg Candling Workshop

This class will demonstrate how to safely clean and store your eggs, so they stay fresh and safe to eat. Get hands-on practice using a candling light to spot hidden shell cracks or internal spots and learn how to easily sort your daily harvest by size and quality. We will discuss the parts of an egg, how they are formed, and how these features help determine overall egg quality. State regulations will also be discussed, so you can legally and confidently sell your fresh backyard eggs to neighbors, local markets, or neighborhood stores.

We invite you to bring eggs from your own flock to practice candling with.

As of July 1, You no longer need an egg candling license to sell eggs from your own flock directly to household consumers off of your farm, such as at a farmers market or similar direct-to-consumer setting, provided the eggs are from your own flock and are sold directly to the end consumer. This class will not count towards egg candling certification.

🌟 4-H + Career Day Success at Muhammad Schools of Atlanta! 🌟
On April 29th, 2026, we had an amazing time at Muhammad Schools of Atlanta Career Day partnering with 4-H! 🎉 Students were engaged, curious, and eager to learn as we shared valuable information about leadership, life skills, and the many opportunities available through 4-H programs.
From hands-on discussions to fun, interactive activities, the room was full of energy and excitement. 💡 The students asked great questions, explored new career ideas, and discovered how 4-H can help them build confidence, develop talents, and prepare for their future.
Most importantly—everyone had FUN while learning! 😄👏
A big thank you to Muhammad Schools of Atlanta for the opportunity to connect with these bright young minds. The future is shining bright! 🌱✨
