Summer is heating up, but that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy your coffee. Come by the museum and shop our Texas and America 250 inspired gifts. We are open Tuesday-Saturday from 9-5. Soak in some local history while you are here!

Looking for something to do over the summer? We have a large selection of new and pre-owned books including children's books, historical fiction and nonfiction, Wise County history, and work from local authors. Come in and find some summer reading while learning a little local history! Open Tuesday-Saturday from 9-5.

Yesterday was a day of recognition in commemoration of America 250! Wise County students participated in an essay contest to declare what America means to them. Three grand prize winners were celebrated during the Wise County Commissioners Court meeting. The Wise County Historical Commission provided cash prizes to each of the winners, presented by Beverly Lindsey and congratulated by Judge Clark.

Today is the day! The Grand Opening of Decatur's Splash Pad from 11-1. Celebration of Sam Woody's 200 Birthday with the Sam Woody Cabin open from 10-2 and then you can come by the Museum to see the Sam Woody exhibit or to purchase patriotic, Texas-themed, or historic merchandise from 9-5. Don't miss all the excitement!
