Early literacy tip from Bay Area Discovery Museum : At bath time, give children a few ice cubes to add to the water. As the ice melts, talk about what you are seeing and how it feels. Ask questions like "where did it go?" and "what do you think is happening to the ice?"

Tweens & Teens (ages 11 – 17) can register now for our Escape Room coming in September. The Library ghost is coming. Can you figure out the puzzles and escape the library* in 30 minutes? Thirty-minute sessions are available 9/1, 9/2, & 9/3 from 3:30pm – 5pm, and on Friday, 9/4, at 3:30pm and 4:15pm. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for this free program, which takes place in DPL’s Training Center. Register with Ms. Zoie in the Youth Services Room or scan the QR code in the image. Our drive-thru food distribution will take place in the rear parking lot of Decatur City Hall on Saturday, September 19 from 9:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. (or until food runs out).
