Pack Your Backpack with Safety!

School has started, and it’s the perfect time to remind kids that they carry more than just school supplies, they carry smart safety habits, too!

Here are 6 safety “must-haves” every child should carry into the new school year:

🧠 Awareness – Know your route and stay alert. Use the buddy system!

🗣️ Voice – It’s always okay to say “no” if something feels wrong.

🚸 Boundaries – Your body belongs to YOU. Safe touch only!

📱 Communication – Memorize key phone numbers or keep a list.

🙋 Trusted Adults – Know who to go to if you need help or feel unsafe.

❤️ Confidence – You are strong, smart, and have the right to feel safe.

✅ Talk to your child about each of these as the new school year begins!

We were thrilled to welcome members of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #4185 and FOE Ladies Auxiliary # 4185 to the CAC today!

For years, this incredible group has supported our mission, hosting fundraisers throughout the year and continually showing up for the children and families we serve. Today, they stopped by to present another generous donation to the CAC!

We are incredibly grateful their commitment to helping children in our community.🩵

Sometimes trends are just for fun.
Sometimes they remind us what really matters.
Here's our take. 🩵

You’re their voice.

If you work with children as a teacher, nurse, counselor, coach, etc. you’re legally required to report suspected abuse or neglect.

🧠 You don’t need proof, just reasonable concern.

📞If you suspect abuse or neglect, call DHR and/or law enforcement. Please don't do your own investigation before calling them.

💗One report can start the process of safety and healing.

When you speak up, you protect a child.

Every child deserves a safe, loving home. 🩵

Morgan County DHR is seeking foster parents and is hosting an orientation on Thursday, September 10 at 6:00 PM.
