Today, we celebrate the incredible men and women who answer the callβ€”day or night, in all kinds of weather, leaving behind family dinners, holidays, and a good night's sleepβ€”to help neighbors they may have never met.

Our volunteers don't do it for recognition or praise. They do it because they care deeply about this community and the people who call it home.

Today, we'd love to ask you to help us recognize them.

If a Mud Tavern Volunteer Fire & Rescue member has ever helped you, your family, or simply made you feel safer knowing they're here, please take a moment to leave a comment below. A simple "thank you," a kind word, or a story about how one of our volunteers made a difference can mean more than you know.

Your encouragement reminds our volunteers that the countless hours of training, missed family time, late-night calls, and dedication to serving others truly matter.

To every member of Mud Tavern Volunteer Fire & Rescue: Thank you for your selfless service, your commitment, and your willingness to answer the call whenever our community needs you. We are proud of each and every one of you.

Please join us in filling the comments with messages of appreciation for these hometown heroes. β€οΈπŸš’

Think volunteering at the fire department means you have to become a firefighter?
Think again.

Mud Tavern Volunteer Fire & Rescue needs people with different interests, abilities, and experience. Fire and EMS may be what people see when the trucks rollβ€”but there are other ways to support the department and serve your community, too.

And if fire or EMS does interest you, don't let a lack of experience stop you.
We will train you.

Come meet us on a Thursday night at 7:00 pm and find out where you might fit. ❀️

Congratulations, Mike Russell! πŸš‘πŸŽ‰

Please join us in congratulating Mike R. on successfully passing his Advanced EMT (AEMT) certification!

An Advanced EMT provides a level of emergency medical care beyond the EMT level, with additional training and skills to provide advanced interventions for patients during medical emergencies.

Mike, we're proud of the time, hard work, and dedication you've put into furthering your EMS education. Every new skill and certification makes our department stronger and helps us provide better care to our community when they need us most.

Congratulations, Mike! We're proud to have you on the MTVFR team!

CONGRATULATIONS, PARAMEDIC STEPHAN SAINT! πŸš‘πŸŽ‰

Please join us in congratulating Stephan Saint on successfully completing the Alabama Fire College Paramedic Program and passing the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic certification!

Becoming a paramedic is no small accomplishment. The Alabama Fire College Paramedic Program prepares EMS professionals to provide advanced prehospital emergency care through extensive classroom education, hands-on skills, clinical experiences, and field training.

That's a lot of studying, training, clinical hours, testing, long days, and probably more than a few cups of coffee.

Stephan, we are incredibly proud of your dedication and commitment to advancing your skills so you can better serve our community. Get some rest while you can...because now that you've got that Paramedic certification, we're ready to put you to work!

We also want to congratulate all of the 2026 graduates of the Alabama Fire College Paramedic Program! Completing this program is a tremendous achievement, and we wish each of you the very best as you use your training to care for communities across Alabama and beyond.

Congratulations, Stephan! You earned it.

Today marks the first day of school for Morgan County Schools, and we want to wish every student, teacher, administrator, school staff member, and family a safe, successful, and exciting school year!

As buses return to our roads and children head back to classrooms, we ask everyone to help keep our community safe by:
🚌 Stopping for school buses when required.
🚸 Slowing down in school zones.
πŸ‘€ Watching for children at bus stops, crosswalks, and along neighborhood roads.
πŸ“΅ Staying alert and putting distractions away while driving.

Whether you're attending Morgan County Schools or another school across our county, we hope this year is filled with learning, new friendships, and great opportunities.

From all of us at Mud Tavern Volunteer Fire & Rescue, have a fantastic school year, and rememberβ€”getting there safely is the best way to start every day! β€οΈπŸš’
