Jiu Jitsu is the tool. The lessons are bigger than Jiu Jitsu.

We want our kids to improve, compete, and accomplish things they’re proud of. But what matters even more is how they respond when things don’t go their way.

When they’re frustrated. When they lose. When something is hard. When a teammate needs help. When quitting would be easier.

Those are the moments we’re really coaching.

Our goal isn’t just to build better Jiu Jitsu athletes. It’s to help build resilient, disciplined, confident and kind young people.

Stronger kids. Kinder people. A brighter tomorrow.

Today, we remember.

September 11th has always carried a deeply personal meaning for me. Like so many others, that day changed the direction of my life and ultimately led me to serve our country defending our freedoms.

I will never forget those we lost on 9/11, the first responders who ran toward danger, or the men and women I served alongside who answered our nation’s call in the years that followed.

Now, 25 years later, the responsibility to remember remains.

Honor the fallen.
Remember the sacrifice.
Never forget.

Today, we celebrate the birth of our nation and an extraordinary milestone—America’s 250th Birthday.

For 250 years, generations of Americans have defended the freedoms that allow us to pursue our dreams, raise our families, build our communities, and pass on values that matter.

At Unit 2, we strive to develop many of those same values every day on the mats: discipline, courage, resilience, respect, integrity, and service to others.

Today, we remember that freedom isn’t free. We are grateful to the men and women of our Armed Forces, veterans, first responders, and all those whose sacrifices have made this nation what it is.

Whether you’re spending the day with family, grilling with friends, or watching fireworks, we hope you take a moment to reflect on the incredible privilege of living in a country built on liberty and opportunity.
