🥚 Egg Recall: Check Your Fridge

If you’ve bought eggs recently, take a quick look at the carton.

Nearly 1.6 million dozen eggs have been recalled because of possible contamination with Salmonella Enteritidis. The CDC reports 98 illnesses across 17 states and 26 hospitalizations connected to the ongoing outbreak. (U.S. Food and Drug Administration⁠)

The recalled eggs may have sell-by or best-by dates from July 20 through August 17, 2026.

🔎 Check the side of your carton for:
• Code P-1950 or 0840962
• Julian dates 157–184

If you have recalled eggs, don’t eat them. Throw them away or return them for a refund.

After handling them, wash your hands and thoroughly clean any utensils, containers, countertops, or other surfaces that may have touched the eggs.

Salmonella can cause diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. If you develop symptoms—especially severe diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, a high fever, or signs of dehydration—contact your healthcare provider.
