Leon Sheffield STEM Adventures-Decatur, Alabama

Made with hot glue and a whole lotta love! ❤️ Celebrated some amazing students with my last round of STEMMYs 🏆and LSM in the AM 🎬 & STU CRU 🏅awards!

As the the school year is wrapping up, the STEM Lab couldn’t let the year end without SHRINKY DINKS — a childhood favorite memory of mine that I LOVE sharing with our students. Not only is it a FUN and EXCITING activity, there is SO MUCH👩‍🔬🧫 science 🥼🧪behind it as well. The students LOVED watching their creations curl, shrink, and thicken in the oven while learning why the plastic changes the way it does with heat. The EXCITEMENT on their faces was PRICELESS, and they were SO PROUD to take home something they created just in time for MOTHER’S DAY.💕

Just a glimpse of the creativity and teamwork at Leon Sheffield this week in the STEM lab. 🎥

Meet our newest STEM robot, Evo 🤖
This week, students got acquainted with him by learning to code with colors and create paths for him to follow!

Students learned about the graphic design program, Canva, last week in STEM by creating ACAP posters to encourage their peers to do their best during testing. They have proudly hung their creations throughout the school. This project has our hallways screaming creativity, art, and school spirit.
