Our mission is to cultivate a diverse community of makers by providing access to tools, resources, and education in a supportive environment.
Meet Michael. He was one of our many guests at the Dare to Repair Cafe last weekend. Our volunteers helped him repair a bread maker and a lamp! It’s stories like these that inspire us to continue living our mission of creating a more diverse and accessible community around making.
There’s never a dull Open Build Night! Can you guess the name of this contraption?! Come visit us Wednesday nights from 7-9pm (minus the 1st Wednesday) to go on a tour of our space, get your questions answered, and work on a project!

Dare. To. Repair! This past weekend our army of volunteers repaired over 100 items for community members. From roombas to chairs to air fryers to lamps - no person was turned away from our Decatur Makers fix-it volunteers. Thank you so much to everyone who came out and who brought us something to fix!

It’s Dare to Repair day at Decatur Makers! Our army of 30+ volunteers are working to repair lamps, bikes, clothing, furniture and any item that comes through the door! Decatur Makers believes in the value of giving back to a community that gives so much to us. Thank you to our partner Legacy Decatur for helping to make this happen!

Thought the makerspace would be quiet on Labor Day. We were very wrong. 😂
Turns out, a day off means a day to MAKE.
Woodworking. Robotics. Building. Designing. Experimenting. Creating. Some working together, some completely lost in their own projects.
And honestly, we love it.
Because sometimes making is the break from everyday life. 💚
