Our Education Chair, Nakhia Hill, and Political Action Chair & 3rd Vice President, Dwain Smith, have been busy showing up in DeKalb high schools..helping students get informed and registered to vote!

Connecting with our youth and providing them with information about civic engagement is an important part of building a stronger community.

💙 A busy day for the NAACP DeKalb County Branch....we were out in the community!

Our branch was proud to attend the City of Stonecrest’s 7th Annual Screen on the Green & Entrepreneur Expo. The Political Action Committee, under the leadership of Political Action Chair & 3rd Vice President Dwain Smith, was on-site helping community members register to vote, get informed, and understand the importance of civic engagement. 🗳️

From health and wellness to voter education and community engagement, our branch continues to show up, connect, and serve.

A special thank you to the City of Stonecrest for bringing the community together for an evening of entertainment, resources, entrepreneurship, and connection.

National Voter Registration Day is an opportunity to bring awareness to voter registration, voter education, and the importance of staying informed and engaged in our communities.

Today, members of the NAACP DeKalb County Branch
alongside community partners, will be at Doraville Station today ( 3pm-6pm) providing voter registration information and assisting individuals who would like to register to vote. 🗳️❤️💙

❤️ September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month!

Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that disproportionately impacts the Black community. This month, NAACP DeKalb is encouraging our community to know the facts, recognize the signs, learn your carrier status, and support individuals and families living with sickle cell disease.

📌 Important Fact: Sickle cell disease affects approximately 100,000 people in the United States, and more than 90% are Black or African American.

Awareness leads to education, advocacy, early testing, and better health outcomes. Together, we can make a difference. ❤️
