Proceeds will directly support our chapter’s programs and initiatives that empower women, strengthen families, and uplift the communities we serve.

NHBW Inc., Atlanta Metro Chapter continued its Summer Reading activities in June by partnering with the West Georgia Regional Library System for Storytime at the Dog River, Douglas County, and Lithia Springs libraries.

It was heartwarming to witness the excitement on the children’s faces as they listened, participated, and enjoyed the stories. The chapter also donated 50 brand-new books to each library, ensuring every child received a book to take home. Together, we’re inspiring a lifelong love of reading—one book at a time!

NHBW Inc., Atlanta Metro Chapter wears blue to support and bring recognition to Men’s Health Awareness on June 19, 2026.

The NHBW Atlanta Metro Chapter is proud to continue its commitment to putting books into the hands of children through our Reading for Life – "I Need to Read" initiative. Every book represents an opportunity to inspire a love of reading and help shape a brighter future for our children. This past week, the Chapter donated a total of 175 books to two outstanding organizations:
📚 Woman on Purpose – a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and youth.
📚 Reach Out and Read Georgia – for distribution through Jonesboro Pediatrics. Reach Out and Read helps give young children a strong foundation for success by integrating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together.

The NHBW Atlanta Metro Chapter proudly kicked off its Summer Reading Program through the “Reading for Life – I Need to Read” initiative by reading to Kindergarten and 1st grade students at Finch Elementary School in Atlanta.
The students enjoyed two wonderful books:
📖 Go Sit Down, Mr. Brown by T.Y. Somerville
📖 No, David! by David Shannon
A special thank you to Ms. Smith-Willis for the opportunity to share the joy of reading with the students in the school library. The children were excited, engaged, and full of smiles!
In addition, to further support youth literacy, the chapter donated 115 books to Fayetteville Elementary School to help place more books into the hands of young readers. Together, we are helping build a lifelong love of reading and learning in our communities. 💙📚

NHBW Atlanta Metro Chapter members had an amazing time at the 2026 Mayor’s Summer Reading Club (MSRC) event on May 14, 2026! The event featured a free, live, interactive reading of DINOSAUR! by author Olivia Aston-Bosworth (Illustrator Alex Ferror), bringing smiles and excitement to children and families in attendance.
The Atlanta Metro Chapter is excited to support the MSRC initiative by reading DINOSAUR! at various daycare centers and libraries throughout June and July. We look forward to inspiring a love of reading in our community all summer long!
