Learn to Become the CEO God Called You to Be™
Faith-driven women entrepreneurs: if you're working hard, praying hard, and still wondering why your business isn't growing the way you expected, the answer may not be your strategy—it may be your leadership.
In August 2026, the United States crossed $40 trillion in national debt. As businesswomen, we cannot pretend that what happens in the larger economy has nothing to do with our companies. But here's the question I want to ask you today: When the economy gets louder, can you still hear God?
When the federal government continues to borrow enormous amounts of money, it becomes one of the largest borrowers competing for available capital. Economists call one possible result the “Crowding-out Effect.”
What does this mean for Faith-Driven Businesswomen in the Marketplace?
Think about it this way: the federal government is in the borrowing market alongside corporations and other borrowers. When government borrowing remains extremely high, that increased demand for capital can contribute to upward pressure on interest rates over time. And that's where this becomes important to us as business owners. Higher borrowing costs can eventually mean more expensive business loans, lines of credit, equipment financing, and other forms of corporate debt. When borrowing costs rise, more of a company's revenue may have to go toward interest expense. That can put pressure on profitability.
I'm not saying that because the national debt crossed $40 trillion this week, your bank will raise your business loan rate tomorrow morning. It doesn’t work like that.
What I am saying is that sustained government borrowing can contribute to an economic environment in which capital becomes more expensive—and as CEOs, we need to understand what that could mean for our businesses.
Why?
Faith-driven businesswomen cannot afford to make financial decisions based upon fear or headlines. We need to understand what's happening in the economy, what's happening in our industry, and what's happening in our own financial statements—and then seek God for wisdom on what we should do with that information.
We must invite God into the Money Meetings for our businesses and train ourselves to know and hear His voice.
Ladies, the economy may be uncertain, but God is not.
And as faith-driven businesswomen, our response to economic uncertainty cannot simply be fear, retreat, or reaction. We must know how to hear God, understand our numbers, understand our industries, and make wise business decisions.
Hearing God does not mean ignoring economic reality. It means we don't allow economic reality to become the final authority over our decisions.
You may have been planning to borrow $100,000 to expand your business. The question isn't simply, “Are interest rates going up?”
Your Money Meeting questions become:
“What would this debt cost my company? Can our cash flow support it? Is this still the right time to expand? Are there other ways to fund the expansion? And most importantly—God, what wisdom do I need before I make this decision?”
God is All-Knowing: God declares "the end from the beginning." (Isaiah 46:9–10, Psalm 147:5).
Application:
The $40 trillion national debt didn't surprise God; neither did the Interest rates. Inflation doesn't surprise God, and a change in the government’s policy won't catch Him off guard. More than that, one of your major customers changing direction will not surprise Him either.
So, my question to you, faith-driven CEOs, is this: “Why would you make major decisions based solely upon what you can see when you serve a God who knows what you cannot see?”
God's omniscience isn't permission for us to become financially irresponsible. In fact, it should cause us to seek Him more diligently.
Money Meeting Question: “God, what do You know about where my business is going that I need to know right now?”
The world's economic conditions do not control God's plans and purposes for us. (Proverbs 19:21, Isaiah 55:8–9)
Application: Don't confuse a change in economic conditions with a change in God's assignment. Sometimes God may say: “Stay, Pivot, Cut Expenses, Invest, Hire, Wait, or Move now.” That's exactly why we must hear Him!
Money Meeting Question: “God, what adjustments do I need to make without abandoning the assignment you have given me?”
When God's Wisdom Meets Industry Knowledge, Faith Overpowers Fear. (James 1:5, Jeremiah 33:3, Proverbs 18:15)
Application:
Faith is not a substitute for business intelligence. You need to know your cash flow and payroll costs and have your financial paperwork in order if God tells you to seek a business loan for expansion. But don’t say your business can’t grow if God has given you wisdom, strategy, resources, and an opportunity sitting right in front of you to make it happen.
Prayer + Wisdom + Knowledge + Discernment + God-Empowered Confidence™ = Success in Business.

Stewardship Includes Multiplication: God Expects Growth
Women of God in the Marketplace…
💡 Each of us has the ability (Dunamis Power) from God to succeed in our Marketplace Assignments (Matthew 25:14-29).
💡 The actions we take in the Marketplace speak loudly to the Lord regarding the faith we have in Him to use the money, talents, and Spiritual Gifts we have been given to succeed (Proverbs 16:3, 1 Corinthians 15:58, Matthew 25:24-27).
💡 We must not allow fear of man, failure, or the unknown (the economy) to hinder us from building our businesses (Proverbs 24:16, Proverbs 29:25, Psalm 118:6, 2 Corinthians 5:7, and Proverbs 24:16).
Ladies, God has entrusted us with great assignments that not only benefit us, but those in our circles of influence: our employees, associates, clients, and contractors.
We must not allow fear and doubt to hinder us from aligning our faith to do great things with God’s Expectations!
I have shared often that when God gave me the idea to start LLVE, LLC, my thoughts were along the lines of providing Executive Leadership Coaching services as a solopreneur, certified under a well-known leadership guru. I had a vision for the business—but as I would eventually discover, my plans and God's plans for me didn't exactly match.
God's plans were bigger.
His plans included writing books, creating the Faith-Filled Leadership Institute for Women™, developing training platforms, expanding my reach, and so much more than I could see when I started.
So, how did I get from Point A to Point B?
I call it Divine Intervention through Connection, Courage, and Clarity.
For many of us faith-driven businesswomen, our businesses may have started through a network marketing opportunity, as a certified consultant or coach within another organization, or simply by using the expertise we already had to serve clients one-on-one. Those opportunities can provide valuable training, relationships, experience, and a foundation for building a business. But what happens when God begins to show you that what He used to prepare you in one season may also be positioning you for something more? What happens when you realize there may be another dimension to the vision He has entrusted to you?
Through a dear colleague and friend, God reminded me that my calling and His plans for me were greater, and they extended into my business. I realized I had been building my business far below my privileges as both God’s daughter and the CEO of my company. The problem wasn’t where I started; the problem was that I had begun to treat my starting point as though it were the full extent of what God had called me to build.
That realization changed something in me.
I needed Connection with people who could see and help develop what God was calling me toward. I needed Courage to move beyond the familiar and expand my territory. Finally, I needed Clarity to understand what that next level actually looked like and what my next steps were.
So, what do Connection, Courage, and Clarity look like for a faith-driven woman in today's marketplace?
And perhaps the more important question is:
Could God be showing you that what you've built so far was never meant to be the final destination—but preparation for what He's calling you to build next?
CONNECTION — Your Next Level May Require Someone Who Can See What You Cannot.
COURAGE — Expansion Requires You to Leave What Has Become Comfortable.
CLARITY — You Don't Need the Entire Blueprint to Take the Next Step.
Reflection:
Ladies, I am not saying that being a Solopreneur, a network marketer, a certified coach, or a consultant within someone else's organization is somehow less than. If that is where God has called you, flourish there. What I am talking about today is what happens when you know God is calling you beyond the boundaries of what you originally envisioned.
What has God already placed in your hands?
What expertise, relationships, intellectual property, resources, credibility, or opportunities already exist?
What is preventing your next level?
Is it a lack of leadership capabilities, revenue, systems and operations, confidence, knowledge, relationships, or infrastructure?
What is the next obedient strategic action?
Ladies, not the next 20 actions, but what is the next one thing God instructed you to do?
“Don't despise your starting point—but don't confuse your starting point with your destination.” …Dr. Yvette

Founder Dependency Can Stall Your Business' Growth
Reflection: Exodus 18: 17-27
• Is your business depending on you more than it's depending on systems?
• If you disappeared for seven days, what would stop?
• Have you mistaken faithfulness for Founder Dependency?
The Founder Dependency Trap doesn't just cost you time—it costs you revenue, opportunities, and the freedom you hoped entrepreneurship would provide. It keeps you tied to the business instead of leading it.
The longer Founder Dependency continues... the more expensive it becomes!
Join me for a complimentary Executive Breakthrough Session called “The CEO God Called You To Be.” We'll go deeper into the Founder Dependency Trap™ and identify the leadership shifts that allow your business to grow beyond your personal capacity.
Every month you delay making these shifts is another month your business may be operating below its true potential.

Ladies,
One of the greatest leaders in Scripture almost became the bottleneck to God's vision.
Moses wasn't failing.
He was faithful.
He was bold and courageous.
Yet, Moses was overloaded!
Moses was experiencing what I call The Founder Dependency Trap™, and it took someone outside the situation—his father-in-law Jethro—to help him see that the very way he was leading would eventually limit the work God had called him to do.
If you're a faith-driven entrepreneur doing everything yourself, Exodus 18 may describe your business more than you realize."
There are three truths related to Moses that God revealed to me that shifted my perspective of leadership, business ownership, and ministry. Allow these truths to transform your way of thinking, doing business, and pursuing your Marketplace purpose. I encourage you to take a few moments to reflect on each truth. Consider journaling what comes to mind or write down one practical step you can take this week to start better aligning your leadership path with God's purpose.
Don’t Make Founder Dependency Appear Spiritual — Exodus 18: 13-16.
Exodus 18 says people stood before Moses from morning until evening. At first glance, that sounds noble. Everyone needed Moses. Everyone wanted Moses. Everyone depended on Moses. But Jethro recognized something Moses couldn't see. The system depended on one person. That's founder dependency.
Application: Many entrepreneurs mistake being needed for being effective. Being indispensable isn't always a sign of successful leadership. Sometimes it's evidence that the organization hasn't been developed.
Founder Dependency Can Stall the Vision — Exodus 18: 17-23.
Jethro identified the real problem: Moses needed a new system of leadership.
Jethro never criticized Moses' heart. He challenged his structure. One of my favorite verses is Exodus 18:17–18 AMP, “17 Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “The thing that you are doing is not good. 18 You will certainly wear out both yourself and these people who are with you, because the task is too heavy for you [to bear]; you cannot do it alone.”
Application: Your business can only grow to the level your leadership can sustain. Moses didn't need more passion. He needed more leadership capacity.
Founder Dependency Can Hinder Others from Operating in Their God-given Gifts — Exodus 18: 24 – 27.
Even in the Marketplace, we are One Body in Christ with many members (1 Corinthians 12:27). Jethro never told Moses to pray harder, work longer, sleep less, or serve everyone personally. Instead, he instructed Moses to:
• Build leaders.
• Delegate responsibility.
• Establish structure.
• Focus on what only Moses could do.
That's exactly what CEOs must learn.
Many women entrepreneurs believe: "No one can do it like me." "My clients only want me." "I'll hire later." "I'm just trying to be a good steward."
Moses probably thought something similar. Yet Jethro warned him: "You will surely wear out." That's more than physical exhaustion. It's leadership exhaustion. And eventually it will create organizational limitations.
Reflection:
• Is your business depending on you more than it's depending on systems?
• If you disappeared for seven days, what would stop?
• Have you mistaken faithfulness for Founder Dependency?
• Are you building a ministry or business that can multiply—or one that revolves around you?
I believe one of the greatest leadership lessons in Exodus 18 is this: God wasn't just trying to help Moses survive. He was preparing him for the growth of a nation. The vision wasn't too big. The leadership structure was too small. If that resonates with you, then I want to invite you to join me for The CEO You Are Called To Be™ Executive Leadership Session. We'll go deeper into what I call the Founder Dependency Trap™ and help you identify the leadership shifts that allow your business to grow beyond your personal capacity. Because the business God has called you to build deserves the leader He is calling you to become.
