Yesterday morning at 10:43 a.m., DFR crews were dispatched to a possible business fire in the 1100 block of Knight Street. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from the business. The employees were able to safely evacuate and there were no injuries. Crews were also able to rescue a litter of kittens from the building, and all are happy and healthy!!!! Great job, everyone

The 17th Annual Brothers For Life 5K was a HUGE success!

It is with profound sadness that Decatur Youth Services mourns the passing of our dedicated colleague, Bo Martin.

Bo was a loyal and devoted employee who faithfully served Decatur Youth Services and the children of our community with kindness, compassion, and unwavering commitment. He was a true team player whose positive spirit, strong work ethic, and genuine passion for helping young people made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Throughout his years of service, Bo touched countless lives and served our community with excellence, integrity, and heart. His legacy will continue to inspire us, and his presence will be deeply missed.

On behalf of the Director Johnny Jones, administration, staff, and the entire Decatur Youth Services family, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Bo’s wife, son, friends, and all of his family during this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they celebrate a life that was truly dedicated to serving others.

Bo Martin’s legacy of compassion, service, and commitment to our youth will never be forgotten.

Here’s how it works: simply complete the fire safety preparation checklist with your young participant, and then head over to any of our local McDonald’s to enjoy a yummy treat! 🍦🍟

This program is a fun way to help our youngest citizens learn important fire safety habits while rewarding them for taking steps to keep themselves and their families safe.

We can’t thank the **Wilson family** enough for their continued support and commitment to helping keep the citizens of Decatur safe. Your partnership means so much to us and our community! 👨‍🚒❤️
