Picnic Stories is cancelled for today, Wednesday, 6/17, due to the weather. We do not do any rain backup in the library for any of our outdoor storytimes.

Our next Wednesday Picnic Storytime is July 8. We look forward to seeing everyone outside on Tuesdays for Tots on the Loose and Thursdays for those Picnic Stories!

A huge thank you to the Newberry Library for hosting the Classics Book Seminar this past weekend, as we celebrated the near completion of our six-month journey through James Joyce's "Ulysses" 📚📜

Our group of dedicated Joycians was treated to an incredible presentation by Instruction & Outreach Librarian Nora Epstein, who shared rare materials from the Library's collection, including a first edition of Ulysses, a signed Finnegans Wake, and a letter from Hemingway praising Joyce. Twenty seminar members had the opportunity to see these treasures up close, ask questions, and engage directly with literary history. Thank you, Newberry Library, for this incredible experience.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Summer Reading Program Kickoff on Saturday! We had a blast painting rocks, striking silly poses in the photo booth, getting airbrush tattoos, and generally getting a little squirrely as we kicked off our "Plant a Seed, Read" Summer Reading Program.
