Disabled American Veterans - Delaware County OHIO

A woman named Marissa shared a touching tradition her father started when she first began living alone. As a joke, he would secretly hide tiny plastic army men throughout her home, calling them her personal “security system.” Over the years, she’d discover the little soldiers in unexpected places — guarding the cereal, hiding behind the television, or keeping watch near the bathroom.
After her father passed away, Marissa believed she had eventually found them all. But three years later, while changing a kitchen light bulb, she removed the fixture and discovered one final soldier hidden inside. He was positioned with his r***e pointed directly toward the front door, as if he were still standing guard. Years after losing her dad, Marissa found one last reminder that he was still looking out for her.

Today, we celebrate the United States Coast Guard’s 236th birthday!
On Aug. 4, 1790, the Revenue Cutter Service—now known as the U.S. Coast Guard—was created by Congress at the request of Alexander Hamilton. Today, the Coast Guard is the oldest continuously operating maritime service in the country and has been involved in every major American conflict since its founding.
To our Coast Guardsmen: Semper Paratus. We honor and celebrate you today and every day. Thank you for your service.
Keeping our promise everyday! We will take Veteran concerns to Congress!!!
Women Veterans Day (also known as Women Veterans Recognition Day) is observed annually on June 12. It commemorates the anniversary of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act, signed by President Harry S.
