Mr. Magic Carpet Ride Productions

I’m currently working on another year’s footage of the life-affirming GroundUP Music Festival, which is one many recipients from funds from the National Endowment For The Arts. It’s a celebration of music, life, art, and community and is a reminder of the best aspects of humanity. Recently, the Trump Administration has begun taking steps to eliminate this incredible organization which plays such a vital role in bringing humans together through art and culture. It’s crucial to understand the importance of voting against these atrocities and to know that we have the power to change the world collectively by participating in every election. Review your voter registration status and make a specific plan to vote against tyranny and to support a world that brings us together instead of apart.

I recently had the honor to sit down with my longtime friend and musical mentor, Bob Lawrence , to talk about the inception of Mr. Magic Carpet Ride Productions, meeting my friends in and the family, my career and experience in pursuing my degree in jazz guitar, and life in general. Check out the link in my bio or visit https://www.jazzpianoskillspodcast.com/andy-laviolette/ to watch or listen to our conversation anywhere you listen to podcasts. It was fun chatting through my journey so far and connecting with a dear friend and major musical influence and guide in my perception of life. Check it out! Photo taken by Christi LaViolette.

I had a really great time with Mark Lettieri, Joey Lomas, and Patrick Craine at the gorgeous, Furndware studio in Dallas while Mark recorded material for his upcoming album. It sounds amazing and I’m excited to share what we filmed!

This week I had the pleasure of filming the band at in with an amazing crew. I’m excited about what we created and can’t wait to share our work! Huge props to the entire crew, but especially for the amazing assist in lighting design on this one!

It was quite an adventure directing video for this year. The circus was most definitely in town. Beautiful friends and life-affirming-music. Until next year!
