Hello, Friends of the Maasai! Please see the new video we produced and posted on our website! It shows the Olmaroroi Centre of Excellence where 40 Young Maasai Ladies live and study as a safe have from homelessness or abuse that they had been in previously. It is a great relief for them to have a home where they can be safe and secure! Please donate if you can help. Funds from the US are of course, becoming more difficult and costs are rising!

Chief Joseph arrived back to Kenya after a speaking tour in the US to find members of his community greeting him at the Nairobi Airport!

Our Kenyan friends are having a very difficult time with floods after many years of record drought. You can see in this video the roads being swept away and collapsing. Many hundreds are dead. A cyclone is setting up to hit the East Coast of Kenya or Tanzania tomorrow. If it hits Kenya, it will be the first in history. Roads are impassible, homes and families have been swept away. No one can move beyond their neighborhoods, so food is in short supply. If you are able to help with funds, to be used for emergency food supplies, medical assistance and rebuilding when this is over, please go to the page shown in the comments and donate. More info to come as it develops. Please google "Kenya floods" to see more.

Delivery of material for next phase of the Centre for Excellence - Rescue Center!

01/23/2024

Friends of the Maasai!
It is a New Year and we have GREAT News. A Foundation called "Flourish, A Family Foundation" based in St Louis, Missouri has very kindly donated $12,000 to finish the construction of our “Olmarori Centre for Excellence” – A Rescue Center for Young Maasai Ladies. This is a wonderful step forward to provide a new life for up to 60 Young Ladies at a time who will reside at our Centre. These Young Ladies might be orphaned. They might have been in an abusive marriage or forced into an early marriage and run away. Each Young Lady has a unique story.
But of course, this is only the beginning for the “Centre for Excellence”. It is one thing to build the structure. It is entirely another thing to provide ongoing support. Our estimates are that it will cost $1000 per month to feed the Young Ladies, provide clothes, electricity, security, and other support. Are you able to help with this continued support through either a one-time donation or having an automatic monthly donation through the myriad of methods available for this? Individuals can make automatic recurring payments through their online checking or brokerage accounts.
As always, thank you so much for your support and concern for our Maasai Friends.
