The Snuggle is Real Animal Rescue

Last month, our rescue welcomed our first ever international transfers! ✈️ Please join us in welcoming Mirabelle, Panko, and Nori, who traveled to Colorado allll the way from Kuwait after a series of setbacks due to the war in Iran. They are still adjusting to their brave new world, but after taking some time to adjust, all are seeking their furever families!

😻 Mirabelle is a sweet 1-year-old domestic short hair with a BIG personality. She adores toys, sitting on laps, and receiving attention and affection from her human friends. She can be a little spicy when overstimulated, so she will best as the only pet in the home and with children over ten years old.

😻 Nori is a gentle, sensitive soul who is still learning that the world is a safe place. He will thrive with a quiet family, who exercises patience as he adjusts and reveals his loving personality.

😻 Panko is a 5-year-old ginger fellow brimming with confidence. He has a lot to say, and he's quick to let you know when he needs pets and affection. He's best suited for a home with no other cats, but he will likely succeed in an environment with older children and/or a friendly dog.

This fall, The Snuggle is Real Animal Rescue is celebrating its 5️⃣th anniversary! 🎉

Five years somehow feels both impossibly long and impossibly short. It’s a significant stretch of time, but no number could ever capture the blood, sweat, tears, and—above all—the love poured into these years.

In five years, The Snuggle Is Real has ushered 1️⃣6️⃣2️⃣ cats and dogs through our foster program. It also facilitated the transfer of nearly 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ more animals from high-intake shelters to larger organizations along the Front Range.

As a volunteer-only organization, those numbers reflect the labor and love of more than 6️⃣0️⃣ volunteers and fosters. They represent a community of animal lovers in Colorado and beyond who have breathed life into our little operation through their compassion, time, energy, and generosity.

Our alumni now live in 1️⃣0️⃣ states, and we’ve welcomed animals from 1️⃣6️⃣ overwhelmed animal care facilities across 4️⃣ states and 2️⃣ countries.

Our volume may be small, but our hearts are big—and our commitment to animals is resolute. ❤️

Here’s to the last 5️⃣ years: to every animal saved, every foster and adopter who opened their home, every volunteer who showed up, every donor who gave, and every person who believed in what we were building.

And here’s to the years ahead. Starting day one, we were "The Little Rescue That Could," and we'll keep fighting for every little life that we can.

As we say "Sayonara" to summer 2026, we're reflecting on some of the happy tails of the last few months!

Congratulations, to Finn, Ruby, Melon (now Mellie), Jessica (now Fiona), Schmidt (now Chip), Nick (now Tango), Coach (now Guinness), and Winston (now Frank)! 🎉

Each of the animals pictured overcame numerous obstacles en route to their furever homes - illnesses, shelter stays, the stress of transport, and in some cases, life as a tiny orphan. One of these alum waited 7 months in foster before her furever people found her.

It was a privilege to play a small part of your stories, little ones. We at TSIR wish you a life of love and happiness! 💗

CONGRATULATIONS (belatedly) to our most recent TSIR alumni! 🎉 Here are some post-adoption updates (in order of photos):

Sasha (now Callie)'s mom shared: "All is going good with Callie! She loves her training and is really improving....Our dog River really seems to love her company." 🐶

Stella (now Brynlee)'s Dad shared: "Brynlee is feeling at home. She was climbing our fence...so I placed three-foot extensions with mesh! We brought her to our vet last week and she was deemed healthy...She's certainly full of energy and a cuddly girl!" 🐶

Mouse's mom shared: "She's as happy as can be, and we have upcoming mountain trip planned for the 4th. She'll have a blast!" 🐶

Slinky the cat's Dad shared that he adjusted to his new digs and loves to play fetch! 🐱

Huge thanks to all who adopt and give rescue animals the loving homes they deserve - these furever homes are what keep us going when the rescue world feels so very difficult. Wishing all our adoptees the happiest of tails and trails! 🎉

The Snuggle is Real has recently extended its reach across the Atlantic, and we are preparing to welcome 2-3 kitties from our rescue friends in Kuwait.

These precious rescuees were orignally Denver-bound in March, but due to travel restrictions amidst the current conflict, their journey was postponed. For two months, the cats' lives hung in limbo while their human friends waited with bated breath for the airspace to re-open. Happily, their flight has been re-booked for June!

As you can imagine, the costs associated with this rescue mission are significant, and our Kuwaiti feline advocates are requesting assistance from the rescue community.

Sweet Fella is seeking a foster or adopter ❤️

Fella is an absolute snugglebug who adores every human she meets. She is housetrained, crate-trained, and fully vetted! She has an adorable little snore and is an enthusiastic player. 🧸

Fella has enjoyed spending time with dogs in the past, and she has not had an opportunity to meet any cats yet. 🐶

Fella has an unusual fear of being leashed and sometimes panics in situations involving leashes. She tends to flail and do her very best to wiggle out of her harness or collar. Her leash-related stress has resulted in some leash reactivity toward other dogs as well, making it tricky to facilitate safe doggy meet-and-greets. For this reason, Fella will do best as the only dog in the home or with an adopter comfortable facilitating a very slow, scaffolded introduction to any resident dogs.

We are committed to setting Fella up for success, and TSIR will cover individualized, in-home training to support her leash skills. Please message us with questions or to arrange a meet-up! 💗
