In 2 Samuel 2, Asahel kept pursuing Abner.

(Asahel brother of Joab from the house of David -Judah)
(Abner from house of Saul- Isreal)

Abner warned him more than once to turn aside. He did not want to kill him. But Asahel would not stop pursuing, and what was already a bad situation became worse.

Then later Abner cried out:

Must we always be killing each other? Don't you realize that bitterness is the only result? When will you call off your men from chasing? Their israelite brothers?

2 Samuel 2:26

That hit me.

These were God’s people fighting God’s people.

Sometimes we get so busy pursuing one another, fighting one another, proving who is right, and focusing on our differences that we forget, we are supposed to be fighting for the Kingdom, not fighting each other.

We may not always agree. We may not worship the same, preach the same, or carry the same assignment. But that does not automatically make someone our enemy.

Jesus said, “For he who is not against us is on our side.” Mark 9:40

There is a real enemy. There is real Kingdom work to do. There are souls that need Jesus.

Stop chasing your brother.
Stop fighting your sister.
Stop allowing bitterness to become the end result.

And I apply this to myself FIRST.

We are ALL guilty of this at times. None of us are above correction, and none of us have arrived. But Scripture shows us clearly what the end result can be when we allow offense, bitterness, and unnecessary battles to continue.

At the end of the day, it should all be for the honor and glory of God.

Our desire should be to become vessels of honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. — 2 Timothy 2:21

Not vessels for our own name.
Not vessels for our own agenda.
Not vessels to prove a point.

Vessels of honor for HIM and HIM ALONE.

Lord, forgive us. Keep our eyes on You!

We don’t all have to carry the same assignment to serve the same King.

There is too much Kingdom work to do for God’s people to keep fighting God’s people.

You can’t worship God in freedom while still choosing Pharaoh’s bo***ge.

You cannot keep returning to what God delivered you from and expect to walk fully in what He called you to.

Egypt had to be left behind.

“Let my people go, that they may serve me.”

Freedom isn’t just leaving Pharaoh.

It’s refusing to go back.

NO MORE COUNTERFEIT CHRISTIANITY.

No more looking like Christ on the outside while denying Him in our lives.

No more lips that honor God while our hearts remain far from Him.
No more Christianity that costs us nothing, changes nothing, and produces no fruit.

Jesus said, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” — Matthew 7:20

The real thing produces real fruit.

“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

We don't need a better imitation.

We need the real thing.
