The inspiration for a ādesign your own scarfā activity came to me in 2013 after stumbling upon digital fabric printing. It was a simple idea: women and girls (& boys too!) would create designs through a fun, hands-on experience. Their art would be printed on fabric and turned into the final productā a fashionable scarf made from their fun-art design. The concept seemed simple enough but little did I know that it would take me 3+ years to put all the pieces together to make the scarf product I had envisioned in 2013. And today, I am still trying to figure things out! It's a journey for sure. What are you willing to sacrifice to make your dream come true? In my case it was my bed. I purchased a fabric printer to figure out how to make the scarf product. I was living in a tiny one-bedroom home with no extra space. So whatās a girl to do? I turned my bedroom into a workspace. Out went my bedā in went the fabric printer. I planned to sleep on my living room sofa but it was so uncomfortable that I ended up sleeping on the floor for over a year until I finally moved the printer into a small workspace a few miles from my home. Btw- I still live in that tiny home and still have that same uncomfortable sofa. The Scarf Studio is all about you
After 8+ years of 'figuring this thing out', it gives me great joy to bring my ādesign your own scarfā activity to you. Although this is my story, The Scarf Studio was created with you in mind. Yes, we provide a fun-art experience culminating with a fashionable scarf but weāre so much more than fun-art and fashionā¦
At The Scarf Studio, we cheer you on. Whether you are chasing down a dream, striving to achieve a goal, going through a rough patch, or simply doing the day-to-day, your scarf will embolden your spirit and inspire you to keep on keepinā on. After all, we all need a little encouragement and reason to smile every now and then. It is my hope that you enjoy our fun-art experience and that you wear your scarf confidently and passionately as it cheers you on throughout your day. Onward,
Jennifer
Thereās something about the smell of spring in the air.
That little shift you can feelā hope, renewal, possibility. It always makes me pause for a minute.
Lately Iāve caught myself feeling like Iām not moving fast enough⦠like I just canāt quite find my groove or make the progress I thought Iād be making by now.
But then I think about spring.
All winter long, bulbs and flowers are buried in the cold, muddy ground. From the outside it looks like absolutely nothing is happening. No progress. No growth. Just dirt.
And then suddenly⦠spring arrives. š¼
Those same bulbs push through the mud, bloom, and turn into something beautiful.
It reminds me that growth is often slow. Messy. Invisible for a while.
Just because we canāt see it yet doesnāt mean it isnāt happening.
So if youāre feeling stuck, behind, or like things arenāt moving the way youād hopedā maybe youāre not failing. Maybe youāre just still in the growing season beneath the soil.
And maybe your spring just hasnāt blossomed yet. š©·
Make more time for the moments that really matter. āØ
What did you love to do as a girl? Go do that. āØ
attitude is everything š
Find one thing to be grateful for. Feel the shift.
Gratitude changes everything.
Iām grateful that spring is around the corner. š¼šøš·
You?
Iām cheering you on. āØ

In high school I was voted Best Dressed. I was a total free spirit back then ā devouring Seventeen Magazine, circling outfits with a pen like it was homework, and rocking Sergio Valente and Jordache jeans before anyone else even knew what they were (thank you, Grandmaās kids boutique).
When my dad had work trips to Syracuse, Iād beg to go just so heād drop me at the mall. I remember being so in my element ā roaming store to store in search of the perfect find. One time I discovered neon checkered pants with suspenders, a neon green puff-sleeve button-down shirt, and silver metallic shoes. I mean⦠come on. š Monday could not arrive fast enough. Pink lipstick, feathered hair, me strutting into school rocking my new outfit.
Then life did that thing it does.
College.
Then my 20s ā long hair, mountain boots, āIām outdoorsy!ā (still laughing at this because it was absolutely not me).
Then career mode ā polished, professional, āappropriate.ā
And somewhere in there, that girl who dressed like a walking mood board just⦠got quieter. Not gone, just muted. I think that happens to a lot of us ā the things that lit us up slowly get traded out for being practical, responsible, adult, etc. Neon fades into beige without us even noticing it.
But lately? Oh man⦠something is rumbling. It feels like that teenage girl is waking up and stretching her arms saying, āFinally. Youāre back.ā
Iām spending time putting outfits together again. I just painted my nails ā every other one purple and teal because why not ā mixing patterns, textures, colors, whatever makes me happy. Not for an occasion. Not for approval. Just because it feels like me.
And hereās the interesting part: itās not just fashion. Itās how Iām thinking. Itās how Iām moving through my days. Itās this tiny shift from āDoes this make sense?ā to āDoes this make me feel alive?ā
And that, apparently, changes everything.
For a while I thought I lost that girl I was ā¦but now Iām realizing she was never lost. She was just waiting until life took its foot off the gas long enough for me to hear her again.
So here I am, in my 50s, not wearing heels anymore because PAIN (seriously, Iāve accepted defeat) ā but discovering that cute sneakers look damn good with a dress⦠and possibly even neon checkered pants. š
Itās funny how the things we loved as kids have a way of finding us again once weāre ready to wear them ā in fashion and in life. āØ
Stay warm, treat yourself, and eat a cookie! āļøš«¶šŖ

⨠Donāt Let Anyone Dim Your Light āØ
Iām saying this just as much for you as I am for myself this year.
As I get older, the more I realize that life is constantly teaching us. We are never too old to learn new lessonsāand sometimes the lessons have been whispering to us for years, but we just werenāt ready to hear them. And then one day⦠they finally land, and it feels like a ton of bricks and a breath of clarity all at once.
Hereās a truth Iām a little embarrassed to admit: even last year, well into my 50s, I dimmed my own light at work. I truly thought it was the ārightā thing to do. I convinced myself that my voice, my way of doing things just didnāt fit anymore. So I quieted myself. I stayed subdued. I didnāt say what I really wanted to say.
But in reflecting on it now, I realize that not only did I do myself a disserviceāI did my colleagues a disservice too. They actually needed my voice. And I robbed them of that by shrinking. So I made myself a promise: this year, when I feel that urge to dim my light again, I wonāt.
The same thing can happen in families. The old roles we took on when we were youngāwhether to fit in, keep the peace, not rock the boat, look perfect, or protect othersācan quietly follow us into adulthood. And if weāre not paying attention, those roles can keep us small long after theyāve stopped serving us. They can hold us back from becoming who weāre meant to be.
For so many reasons, Iāve been dimming my light for a long time. But Iām realizing those habits donāt serve me anymore. And if Iām honest, stepping out of that old identity is scary. Letting go of whatās familiarāeven if itās limitingāis uncomfortable.
But as I sat here today looking out at a stunning snow-covered landscape, it hit me: we are surrounded by living, breathing miracles. Nature never stops growing. The trees, the flowers, the grassāeverything is always expanding. That is the law of life.
And if we are alive, that same life energy is moving through us too. We are meant to grow and expandānot shrink. Not settle. Not dim.
So if youāve been feeling that quiet longing, that restlessness, that discontent⦠thatās not you being ungrateful. Thatās your soul speaking. Itās your soul saying, āLet me grow. Let me expand. Let me become.ā
Itās not selfish. Itās not dramatic. Itās simply becoming the version of you that God intended from the beginning.
So I just want to remind you:
š Stop dimming your light.
š Let go of roles, thoughts, and habits that donāt serve you anymore.
š Know that the world needs your voice.
š Trust that your soul knows the way.
As always, Iām cheering you on. š
