Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month – a time to honor the people, stories, traditions and cultures that make our communities stronger and more vibrant.
In Colorado, Hispanic heritage is woven into our state’s history and continues to shape our communities today. This month is a chance to discover new stories, experience local culture and support Hispanic and Latino artists, leaders and organizations.
Here are a couple ways to get involved locally:
🎨 Museo de las Americas — Beginning Sept. 17, see Kara de Lara: Identidad, Memoria y Palabra, featuring the work of Mexican artist Kara de Lara.
🌿 Denver Botanic Gardens — Through Oct. 15, explore La Lotería Botánica, an artistic take on the traditional Mexican game inspired by plants, culture and community.

At Rose Community Foundation, a pillar of our work is creating opportunities for families to explore philanthropy together. Our family-in-philanthropy events are one opportunity we offer for grandparents, parents and children to learn together about the power of giving and what it means to create a culture of generosity across generations.
This Grandparents Day, celebrate in whatever way is meaningful to your family. Revisit our Sprouting Generosity: Growing Together as a Philanthropic Family blog for volunteer opportunities and resources to start your own family giving circle:

Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day kicks off tomorrow, September 1! Sports give kids more than a chance to play — they help build confidence, friendships and valuable life skills. This statewide effort helps make youth sports more accessible and creates more opportunities for young athletes across Colorado.
⚾ The campaign kicks off at tomorrow’s Rockies game! Proceeds from every ticket purchased through the link in the article below will be added to the campaign’s incentive fund, and the first $1 million raised online will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
🔔 New this year: Donors giving through a donor-advised fund (DAF), IRA rollover or wire transfer can unlock a dollar-for-dollar match from the America250 Fund — a $250,000 match exclusively for those gift types.
We’re proud to be part of this statewide effort to help more Colorado youth experience the benefits of sports. 🔗 Learn more about the campaign and how you can support: https://www.aol.com/articles/colorado-youth-sports-giving-day-175600000.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Dolly Parton was known for her humble beginnings, her tireless work ethic, immeasurable talent, and meteoric success as a singer, songwriter, actress and cultural icon whose appeal transcended demographics and divides. Her philanthropy- both well-known and below-the-radar - will remain a significant part of her legacy with the ripple effects being felt for generations to come. May her memory be for a blessing…
Dolly Parton, the country music superstar who quietly reshaped philanthropy in East Tennessee and beyond, has died at 80, her family announced Tuesday. Parton's giving ranged from her Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which mails millions of free books to children each month, to a $1 million gift supporting Moderna, Inc.'s COVID-19 vaccine research, to the naming of Dolly Parton Children's Hospital earlier this year.
"I just give from my heart. I never know what I'm going to do or why I'm gonna do it. I just see a need, and if I can fill it, then I will," she said.
We'll have a comprehensive look at her philanthropic legacy tomorrow.
