During this event, two members of the community are taking the stage during an important public conversation about identity and belonging.
Nathan Fernando-Frescas, an HCAF camper and CPR Senior Host, will be exploring the question that started it all: "Why did you change your name?" alongside community leader Nga Vương-Sandoval.
Sheila Chester, one of our dedicated camp directors, is performing as a singer alongside Nguyen Thieu Lion Dancers and acoustic guitarist Javi Gutierrez.
"Voices Unbound" is a powerful dialogue about questions that resonate deeply in our adoptive family community.

At HCAF, we see fathers doing amazing things every year.
We see dads learning new traditions, trying unfamiliar foods, asking important questions, volunteering everywhere, joining dance lessons, sharing camp experiences, and creating lasting memories with their children.
Most of all, we see fathers who are committed to helping their children understand who they are and where they come from.
Today, we celebrate and thank all the fathers and father figures in our HCAF community.
Happy Father's Day—and thank you for being part of the journey.

One of the things that makes HCAF special is the opportunity to learn—not only about our own histories and cultures, but about one another's as well.
This Juneteenth, we honor a significant moment in American history, the end of slavery in the United States and celebrate the freedom, resilience, achievements, and cultural contributions of Black Americans.
By recognizing and respecting the stories that shape our communities, we deepen our understanding of one another and strengthen the connections that bring us together - Celebrating Community!

This week ends our series celebrating some of the incredible members of Heritage Camp's Board of Directors. Today, we hear from the person who started it all, Pam Sweetser. ❣️
"Something I have always believed is that as parents there is no greater gift you can give your children than the opportunity to discover who they really are, and to celebrate in that discovery alongside them. For our children, provided that opportunity in a way no other place really could."
What started as a single weekend camp for Korean adoptees evolved into something far bigger. Pam's original vision grew to include Indian camp (for her son) and expanded into what we now know as the 8 heritage camps, plus Domestic.
For 35 years, Pam held one core belief: Adoptees deserve spaces where they can discover their identity, connect with their culture, and celebrate being exactly who they are—while surrounded by families who understand and can support them.
That belief built a legacy.
Help us celebrate this incredible milestone and its founder, Pam!👏
🏕️ Camp season kicks off tomorrow with African-Caribbean Heritage Camp!
