We recently welcomed Construction & Demolition Recycling Association Executive Director Andrea Johnson to our Denver headquarters for a visit and conversation about Viably, our growth, and the work happening across the C&D recycling industry.
That conversation is now part of CDRA’s latest member spotlight, sharing more about our evolving capabilities, the addition of Harp Renewables, and our approach to supporting customers.
Thank you to CDRA for taking the time to visit our team and for the continued work you do to connect and support the C&D recycling community. We’re proud to be part of it.

Food waste prevention is the goal; but even with the best prevention efforts, there will still be food waste that needs to have a path forward.
Different materials, volumes, and operations all call for a different approach. From depackaging to organics processing, having the right solution can help organizations make better use of the material that remains and work toward their diversion goals.
This Food Waste Prevention Week, we’re thinking beyond the bin and about what it takes to build a more effective food waste system from start to finish.

There’s a lot to look forward to at the Mulch & Soil Council Annual Meeting, but spending time with the people across this industry is always a highlight.
Garrett Lapsys and Kevin Yuncker will be onsite representing Viably, reconnecting with customers and partners and having conversations about what’s happening across the industry.
We’re also proud to return as a Platinum Sponsor and sponsor this year’s President’s Reception.
If you’re attending, connect with Garrett and Kevin. We’ll see you there!

With nearly $28 million in funding becoming available September 23, composters have an opportunity to evaluate where investments in equipment, preprocessing, material handling, screening, or facility improvements could make the greatest impact.
Viably can help operators assess their current process, identify opportunities to improve throughput and capacity, and determine which solutions make sense for their facility and long-term goals.

The USDA's new Fertilizer Investment & Expansion for Long-Term Domestic Supply (FIELDS) Program has generated significant interest across the organics industry.
After reviewing the official Notice of Funding Opportunity, one thing has become clear: the eligibility requirements are more specific than many operators may initially expect.
Three takeaways for operators:
- Traditional composting operations should not assume they are eligible under the current program requirements.
- Eligible projects must involve qualifying process manufacturing.
- Compost production, blending, or bagging alone does not meet that requirement.
With a minimum project size of approximately $30 million, the program is geared toward large-scale domestic fertilizer manufacturing investments.
Organizations producing organic fertilizer products may still qualify, depending on their manufacturing processes, project scope, and the products they produce.
Before investing significant time in an application, we encourage operators to review the official USDA guidance and evaluate whether their project aligns with the program requirements.
We've also published a summary of what operators should know and will continue updating it as additional guidance becomes available.
