Made it home after a great time teaching in Charlotte. This kitten season has been PACKED with educational events—I’ve been zipping around to a different state every week! I absolutely love it, but it’s also so so nice to come home to my lil Tenderheart family. 🖤

Oh PUXIE! What a journey. Pixie and Puck are such a pair that I honestly still have trouble saying their names as separate words. They were simply meant to be together. I’m so thrilled that they’ve officially gone to their forever home, and we can all continue to watch them grow at 🧚🧚‍♀️

Do you use a recovery cone for your kittens after spay/neuter? With the super tiny incisions our vet does and good pain management, it typically isn’t necessary for our fosters—but we keep them on hand just in case a kitten is a little too curious about their surgical site. Wild child Pixie has been rocking the lampshade look for a few days to make sure she heals up well!

Spaying and neutering is the last step of our kittens’ foster journey, so you know what comes next—adoption! 😻

One of my favorite shelter partnerships is with this wonderful shelter in Kansas. Read their post to learn about some of the work we’ve done together to save little lives! After 5 years of partnership, I can truly say this is a model shelter for the future of kitten care in shelters—supporting even the most challenging kittens like those with cleft palates, pectus excavatum, panleukopenia and other medical needs. Someday every shelter will have these resources, and we are determined to bring that day forth. Read about our shelter grant program at orphankittenclub.org/programs 🩷

Devastated that our former foster Martha (now Bonnie) is in need of a new home. Her incredible adopter, a veterinarian who we adore, is very ill and will no longer be able to care for her. She says Bonnie is her “heart dog.” It would mean so much to me and to the adopter if we could reassure her that Bonnie’s future will be as filled with love as her first five years have been.

Will you please share her with your friends in and around Southern California? If anyone is interested in her, they can submit an application at orphankittenclub.org/adopt 🖤

If you followed me in 2021, I have no doubt that you remember Martha. She was one of the “gummy bears,” and was the subject of my jingle “little puppy geniuses.” She became the co-star of an Adventures in Fosterland book about her unlikely friendship with a little kitten named Snowpea. She was my favorite in her litter of 9, and I have one billion baby photos and videos I can share with her new family. Thank you for helping us find her happy future.

Pixie and Puck may not be related by blood, but they’ll be sister and brother for life. 💕

Yesterday we happened upon a vegan cat cafe in Mexico City, Vegattos! When my plate arrived, I was surprised to see a sweet note on it. It turned out the owner follows me, and we had a nice conversation about her cat rescue work! If you’re looking for a cat in CDMX, visit them to meet Baguira (first photo), Kuro (last photo) and the other lovely cats in their adoption program. 🖤
