Not everything original gets kept just because it's original.
This home's stone is staying. It's a defining feature of the house & worth building around. The stucco siding didn't make the cut, because keeping it wouldn't have added anything to the finished result.
That's the actual test: if the old and new can blend & make sense together, we're for it. If it can't, we're just as much for tearing it out.
Preservation for its own sake isn't the goal. A home that works is.

The mudroom is the most overlooked room in the house & one of the most useful to get right.
A custom bench makes an odd corner functional. Overhead cabinets add storage without cluttering the floor. Closed storage keeps things tidy near a main entry & pairing it with laundry means dirty clothes go straight into the wash.

A pop-top only works if it doesn't look like one.
This garage addition picks up the same stucco & detailing as the rest of the house, so from the front, it reads as one home, not an addition.
The homeowners already put in the work on their own patio & built-in grill, so our job was to ensure everything we added felt like it belonged there.
Long-term home, not just more square footage.

Because once it's closed in, there's no fixing it. It has to be right the first time.

The Foothills Rd. Project leans into a warmer, more relaxed take on modern.
Walnut cabinetry & marble backsplash in a kitchen that opens straight to a mid-century dining nook. A steel fireplace surround that grounds a living room full of texture.
