A cable can look perfectly installed and still not perform the way it should.

That’s where testing and certification come in. Once cabling is installed, each link can be tested against defined performance requirements to verify that it can support the network it was designed for. The result is more than a simple pass or fail. Testing can identify issues with installation, termination, cable length, signal performance, and other factors that aren't always visible during an inspection.

A pass provides documented verification that the installed cabling meets the required performance criteria. A fail gives the team information to help identify and correct a problem before that connection is put into service.

That’s why testing isn't just a final checkbox. It's an important part of quality control and provides documented proof that the infrastructure is ready to perform.
