We love seeing our NJHFR Champions find success in the high school ranks and for Skyler Nicholas, she did it all on the same horse. 🏆

Skyler first made her mark at the 2022 NJHFR, where she went 15.542 in Round 1, 15.557 in Round 2 and 15.790 in the short-go. Her 46.889 average earned her the Junior High World Champion title.

Four years later, she was back in the winner’s circle, this time as the 2026 NHSFR World Champion.

Skyler clocked a 17.332 in Round 1, a 17.036 in Round 2 and then laid down the only 16 of the week in the short-go with a 16.986, bringing her average to 51.354.

She’s proud of what she’s accomplished, but she’s the first to give credit to the horse who’s been there for it all a horse with the try, heart and consistency to carry her from the junior high title to a high school world title.

Two World Championships. Four years apart. One very special horse. 🤠🏆

2027 NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL FINALS RODEO UPDATE

The National High School Rodeo Association is excited to announce a change to the 2027 National High School Finals Rodeo.

After careful consideration between the Sandhills Global Event Center and the NHSRA, we have made the decision to move the 2027 NHSFR to a new location and date and we believe this is the best move for our members and our association.

📅 July 11–17, 2027

We’re looking forward to bringing the NHSFR experience back to Gillette and creating an incredible week for our members, their families, and the entire rodeo community.
