On top of celebrating the wonderful nominees, this night includes performances from Soda Shop Movement Company, Littleton Ballet Academy, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, Jeanette Trujillo, Mudra Dance, and New Paradigm Dance Theater!

With “Coyote vs. Acme” still doing numbers at the box office, we thought we’d share some lesser-known Looney Tunes history. Chuck Jones, creator of Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Coyote, the Road Runner, Pepe Le Pew, and scores of other memorable characters for Warner Brothers, was also a huge fan of square dancing.

Jones and several other well-known animators (Frank Grundeen, best known for 'Fantasia’) regularly provided cartoons for their friend Bob Osgood’s magazine “Sets in Order,” often casting his characters as square dance callers, excited (and then beleaguered) square dance convention-goers, and enthusiastic dancers. Osgood’s Papers include not only a full run of “Sets in Order,” but original pen and ink drawings by both Jones and Grundeen.
