This Welcoming Week, Denver Public Library is proud to be a founding partner of Patchwork of Us—a collective digital quilt celebrating what welcoming looks like across Colorado.

Registration opens tomorrow at noon for a special evening with Colson Whitehead, closing out Denver Public Library's 2026 One Book One Denver season.

Whitehead will discuss the novel's origins, the real history behind it, and themes of friendship, memory, justice, and survival. The event includes an audience Q&A and a book signing, with copies available for purchase from the Shop at MATTER.
