Night hiking with a couple of buddies is my absolute favorite way to hike and explore new places. .collective organized one during summer and now I night hike with a couple buddies as often as possible. 

There is something surreal about exploring these beautiful spaces at night; Maybe it’s the combination of quiet, stillness and darkness which makes it so special?

When night hiking you absolutely need to bring a flashlight to light your path ahead to keep you from stepping into danger (or off a sheer drop). I bought a couple of as I had heard good things about their reliability, and it made night hiking so much more fun. I really recommend them if you are looking for a solid and reliable light.

What do I use?
My first purchase was a Fenix HM50R V2.0 Rechargeable Headlamp for hiking, which is a great lightweight option for hiking and the red lamp setting is more useful than I had expected.
If you want to light up trails the other side of the mountins like I do 😂 , the Fenix PD36R PRO does the job and more.

Genuinely sad to hear about the passing of . David and his work has had a profound effect on my life, not just twin peaks, and the people I met through being a fan, but also his book on mediation and creativity ‘Catching the small fish’. This was the first time I’d seen someone call BS on the idea of needing to be a ‘tortured artist’ to make great work.
Pictures are from the last UK Twin Peak festival where I was acting in my favorite immersive presentation ever… the black lodge.

Here are some of my favorite on camera moments from the last year. BUT first, I’m going to wish you all a blessed start to 2025. May the coming year be one of progression, growth and community.

Late this past summer, at the University of colorado - Boulder, rire in the Mountains, the Firekeeper Alliance, Tribal Members of the Blackfeet Nation, AISA Music, Wardruna, ByNorse Music, Sami representatives, and scholars from the University of Colorado gathered to join the threads of our respective communities together. We shared stories of resilience, catharsis, myth and meaning, and ancestral connections.

The common thread - our desire to create a community that builds something greater than a music festival - a movement that has the most positive impact on the community that has welcomed us to their lands, and those who are traveling from afar to join in the FITM

These stories will be shared throughout the coming weeks. As we unravel these threads our hope is that you see how your own thread is also part of the greater web that makes our community truly unique.
