Staff Highlight: Meet Tara!

Meet Tara! Who we are excited to celebrate a very special milestone with. Today marks Tara's 14th anniversary working with Project PAVE! As our Executive Director, Tara is our fun and fearless leader who never misses an opportunity to celebrate her fellow PAVE team members.

Outside of work, Tara loves to travel, read, binge-watch shows, and spend time with her kids. Her favorite kind of food is Italian, and her favorite holiday is Christmas.

When asked about her favorite moments at PAVE, Tara shared: "Getting to celebrate young people and their families at our Transformations events; the full-circle moments of adults sharing at those events or in other places what PAVE meant to them as a child."

Today, we celebrate Tara's 14 years of leadership, joy, and dedication to Project PAVE. We are so grateful for everything she has done for our team and the young people we serve, and we look forward to many more years to come!

Self-care is not an indulgence. It is a necessary part of taking care of your mental well-being.

Self-care can look different for everyone, from getting outside and connecting with others to setting boundaries or simply allowing yourself to rest.

Student Highlight: Meet Citlally!

We’re excited to highlight our YCEPer Citlally! During the program, Citlally is most looking forward to meeting new people and gaining knowledge that will help her recognize healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviors.

Outside of YCEP, Citlally enjoys drawing and socializing with friends. Her favorite movie is Guardians of the Galaxy, and her favorite artists are The Weeknd and Arca. Her favorite food is seafood, and her favorite holiday is Halloween.

In the future, Citlally hopes to pursue entrepreneurship or finance and eventually start her own business. She hopes the skills she gains through YCEP will help her recognize healthy and positive qualities in the people she surrounds herself with as she works toward her future goals.

We are so excited to have Citlally with us this summer and look forward to seeing her build new connections, grow, and work toward her goals!

Student Highlight: Meet Jaivci!

Meet YCEPer Jaivci! This summer at PAVE, Jaivci is excited to be part of YCEP, where he can explore important topics while gaining valuable work experience and earning a little extra cash.

Outside of YCEP, Jaivci enjoys playing Roblox and taking a good nap. His favorite food is Mexican food, and his favorite movie is The Devil Wears Prada. His favorite artists are Shaboozey and Mon Laferte, and his favorite holiday is Christmas.

In the future, Jaivci hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career in neurosurgery. He is optimistic that the skills he learns at PAVE will help him achieve those goals.

We are so excited to have Jaivci with us this summer and look forward to supporting him as he works toward his goals!

Student Highlight: Meet Charlie!

We're excited to highlight our YCEPer Charlie! This summer at PAVE, Charlie hopes to receive support as she works toward her goal of graduating high school as her true self. She is also looking forward to meeting people with similar interests and ambitions.

Outside of PAVE, Charlie enjoys coloring and drawing. Her favorite holiday is Halloween, and her favorite movies are Nope and Project Hail Mary. Her favorite artists are Hozier and Saint Motel, and her favorite foods are anything with cheese.

When asked about the most important characteristics of a healthy relationship, Charlie shared, "Individuality, trust, communication, and equality."

We are so happy to have Charlie with us this summer and look forward to supporting her as she continues to grow!

Student Highlight: Meet Berenice!

Meet YCEPer Berenice! This summer at Project PAVE, Berenice hopes to work toward her goals by building confidence, creating meaningful connections, strengthening her public speaking skills, and learning healthy ways to cope with stress.

Outside of YCEP, Berenice enjoys playing sports, especially tennis and soccer. She also loves building with LEGO, reading comic books, hiking, and watching movies and TV shows. Some of her favorite movies are The Conjuring and Tangled. Her favorite artists include Arctic Monkeys, NewJeans, Sabrina Carpenter, and Kendrick Lamar, and some of her favorite foods are mangos, ice cream, and fries.

When asked about the most important characteristics of a healthy relationship, Berenice shared, "Honesty, trust, communication, respect, and understanding."

In the future, Berenice plans to continue her education by attending college and becoming an ultrasound technician. She also hopes to complete her paralegal certificate by participating in a law firm internship next summer.
