Ekar Farm
Ekar Farm connects people to community, and community to the earth. We nourish body, heart, mind and spirit at two sites in Lakewood and Aurora.
We grow sustainably produced fruits and vegetables so that all who are hungry can come and eat. Ekar Farm and Community Gardens is a communal urban farm, inspired by Jewish values. We work to build community, provide experiential and environmental education, and grow sustainably produced fruits and vegetables, expanding access to those in need. From the platform of our urban farm, we apply the practices of ancient traditions, customs and teachings to engage our community in the solutions to many contemporary issues.

A few weekends ago we partnered with JEWISHcolorado and PJ Library to host an event on the farm! Families got a tour of the farm and the kiddos completed a craft! We hope to see you on the farm for our Sukkot event on October 11th for honey tasting, crop harvesting, fresh apple c***r, and mini pumpkin decorating 🍯🌳🍎🥒🥕

Last weekend (August 15th) the farm was hit badly by the severe weather that moved through the South Denver metro area. It took us a little time to post and let our community know as we navigated strategies to fulfill produce distribution obligations and formulate a general game plan for the rest of the season.
We're fortunate to have an incredible farm staff that shows grace, determination, and incredible resilience led by Farm Manager Sarah Kaplan Gould and Assistant Farm Manager Clair Byers. If you feel inclined to donate to assist our recovery operations please do so here:
