As the world cup begins, Pope Leo’s prayer intention for the month of June invites us to reflect on the power of sports to bring people together across cultures and nations.

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi: the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. On this special feast, we give thanks for the incredible gift of the Eucharist, where Jesus is truly present with us in the Blessed Sacrament.

In every Mass, Christ nourishes us with his Body and Blood, drawing us closer to him and to one another. May this celebration deepen our love for the Eucharist and renew our desire to follow him with faith and devotion.

June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: a heart burning with love, mercy, and compassion for all people. Throughout this month, we are invited to draw closer to Christ and rest in the peace of his Sacred Heart.

Just drop it off in the container at the back of the church to help prisoners crochet baby blankets for the St. Margaret of Castello Family Center. Your gifts are put to good use!

On June 3, 1994, Archbishop Golka was ordained a priest in Grand Island, Nebraska for the Diocese of Grand Island!
