⚡ DENVER, MEET YOUR SEPTEMBER SPEAKER! ⚡
We’re tuning into a seriously good CURRENT this month. 📻💜
Meet Dave Ashton, aka Deeprawk Dave: longtime radio personality, hip hop artist, former skateboard-world wanderer, and a guy whose story has taken some wonderfully unexpected turns.
For 12 years, Dave has been behind the mic, sharing music, stories, and community over the airwaves. But his journey to radio? Let’s just say it includes everything from Think Skateboards in San Francisco to a hot dog stand in Chicago, a Deep Rock Water route that helped inspire his nickname, and a lifelong love affair with hip hop that started when he got his first Grandmaster Flash record at age 8. 🎧
Friday September 25th, Dave joins CreativeMornings Denver to explore our global theme: CURRENT.

Our theme for September is CURRENT. It was chosen by our Columbia chapter in Missouri, illustrated by Bethanie Irons, and is presented by Adobe.
What’s current? That new release at the top of the charts. Breaking news. The latest and greatest.
The crackling buzz of an electric current coursing through power lines to light up a neon sign.
The flow of a river always moving downstream. The constant push and pull of the ocean’s tide.
What new ideas and fresh executions are surging inside you? Sometimes you have to grab hold of your creativity like a live wire to spark something shockingly unexpected. While other times, you just need to go with the flow and see where it takes you.
Our Columbia chapter had this to say about the significance of this month’s theme:
"Current invites reflection on where we are now and where we’re headed. Socially, creatively, environmentally, and personally. It’s a theme that offers room for depth, urgency, movement, and connection.”
Watch this video from our Columbia chapter for more on what CURRENT means to them and how they were inspired by the Columbia River.
Speaker and Venue announcement coming soon!!! Stay tuned!!?

🎶 CREATIVE FRIENDS! Looking for something inspiring to do Thursday night?
Our friends at Analog Salon are back at the Posner Center with another evening of music, storytelling and creative connection, and this month’s guest sounds absolutely fascinating.
Meet Matt Sage: musician, artist, educator, farmer, father, skateboarder, punk-rocker, poet and all-around creative human. His journey has taken him from Colorado’s punk and DIY music scene to teaching media studies and making music in Chicago, and eventually back home to Colorado, where he now makes music and raises his family on a farm along the Front Range.
On Thursday night, Matt will tell the story of his creative life through 10 personally meaningful songs, sharing the music that shaped him along the way. His longtime friend DJ Ladybug will bookend the conversation with all-vinyl sets. 💿✨
📍 Posner Center for International Development
📅 Thursday, September 3

🌴✨ MEET OUR AUGUST SPEAKER: FRANK ANELLO! ✨🌴
This month, CreativeMornings/Denver is heading to The Roots, the brand-new event space of Project Worthmore, and we couldn’t imagine a more meaningful person to explore our August theme, NAKHLAH (Palm), with us.
Meet Frank Anello, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Project Worthmore, a Colorado nonprofit dedicated to supporting refugees and immigrants as they rebuild their lives and create community here in Colorado.
What began with Frank helping one refugee family in 2009 has grown into an organization serving more than 5,000 people each year through healthcare, food security, education, community navigation, and perhaps most importantly, belonging. 💛
Frank is an entrepreneur, community builder, and the kind of human who believes strong communities aren’t built through programs alone. They’re built through relationships, curiosity, and truly seeing the humanity in one another.
And then there’s this little detail… 🏃♂️😳
Frank is an ultrarunner who has completed 50-, 100-, and even 200-MILE races! He sees plenty of parallels between endurance sports and nonprofit leadership: resilience, adaptability, and the understanding that meaningful progress happens one step at a time.
🌴 NAKHLAH. Roots. Resilience. Community. Belonging.
We have a feeling this is going to be a very special CreativeMornings.
📍 The Roots at Project Worthmore
📅 Friday, August 28
☕ Coffee + connecting: 8–8:50 AM
🎤 Program begins promptly at 9 AM
🚨 REGISTRATION OPENS MONDAY! 🚨
Space is especially limited for this one, so mark your calendar and be ready to grab your ticket when registration goes live! And if you do register and your plans change, please release your ticket so someone on the waitlist can join us. 💛
Bring your mug. Bring your curiosity. Come connect. 🌴☕

This Friday, we're exploring COMPETENCIA with the incredible Marta Spirk. 💥
Marta is a TEDx speaker, professional singer, entrepreneur, speaking coach, and host of the globally ranked The Empowered Woman podcast. But some of her greatest lessons about confidence didn't come from a stage... they came from stepping onto the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu mat as a beginner.
Born and raised in Brazil, Marta has dedicated her career to helping people find their voice and communicate with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Yet it was embracing the vulnerability of competition that reshaped how she thinks about success, creativity, and growth.
Join us as Marta shares how challenge has become one of her greatest teachers and why true competence isn't about having all the answers. It's about showing up, learning, and having the courage to keep going.
📍 Reynard Social at Thompson Denver
📅 Friday morning
☕ Coffee & community at 8:00 AM | Program begins at 9:00 AM
Come ready to be inspired and maybe even rethink what competition means in your own creative life.

Our theme for July is COMPETENCIA. It was chosen by our Santiago chapter in Chile and illustrated by Valentina González.
Competencia (pronounced “kohm·peh·TEN·see·ah”) is a Spanish word that translates to “competition.”
The phrase "iron sharpens iron" means competing against the best makes us better. But your real competition is a past version of yourself.
Tickets open up Monday with our speaker MARTA | Professional Singer & Speaking Coach at Reynard Social Spaces Denver
