Happy Day 1 of ! 🛠️✨
For 110 years, Emily Griffith Technical College has been the heartbeat of Denver’s economy. Long before "workforce development" was an industry phrase, Emily Griffith herself opened the doors of the Opportunity School with a radical mission: to give every learner, regardless of background, the practical skills to secure a good job and build a life.
Today, our legacy lives on in every licensed nurse, skilled electrician, certified welder, and English language learner driving Colorado forward.
At Emily Griffith Foundation, we strive to ensure cost is never a barrier to that vision. By funding scholarships, wraparound student support, and programmatic investments, our community of donors and partners helps turn education into immediate economic mobility.
As we celebrate workforce leaders across the nation this September, we want to thank the partners, employers, and supporters who power our students' success. Together, we aren't just filling jobs; we’re building Colorado’s future.

A new school year. New beginnings. And students continuing to move forward.
Today marks the first day of the 2026–27 school year at , and with it comes another year of students building skills, pursuing new careers, and creating opportunities for themselves and their families.
Among them is Nina Marie Crihfield, who is returning this year to complete her Practical Nursing program. Nina first came to Emily Griffith in 2016 to earn her Nurse Assistant certificate. After graduating with a 4.0 GPA and building a career in caregiving, she returned to continue her education and take the next step toward becoming a nurse.
Nina’s story is one of many. Every year, students come to Emily Griffith with determination and goals, and sometimes with financial barriers that can make completing a program difficult. That’s where a strong community of donors and partners makes a difference.
Through scholarships, emergency assistance, and other forms of support, Emily Griffith Foundation helps students stay enrolled, complete their programs, and move into careers that strengthen Colorado’s workforce and communities.
Today, we’re celebrating Nina and the many returning students continuing their journeys, as well as the new students beginning theirs.
And we’re grateful to everyone who helps make those journeys possible. 💙
Here’s to the 2026–27 school year!
