Deer are pretty cool! Especially this one. This is Megaloceros, an ENOURMOUS Deer that inhabited Eurasia during the Pleistocene. The most striking feature of this animal is the set of antlers. The antlers were huge, with a length of about 11 feet from one end to the other.
Photos taken at the Field Museum.
Is incredible Mark Witton piece shows the modern walrus coexisting with a plethora of extinct taxa. This is one of my favorite pieces.

Another Shark-like post. This strange fossil belongs to Helicoprion. A type of cartilaginous fish that lived from the Early to middle Permian. They are best known for their tooth whorl (shown in the image) a collection of teeth that was likely used for slicing up soft bodied prey. This picture was taken at the field museum!

For Shark Week, here is a Stethacanthus who is not AI generated! (If you know, you know) Stethacanthus may look like a shark, but it was actually a completely different type of cartilaginous fish. One that sported an anvil-like dorsal fin (which I love). This strange little fella swam the seas from the Late Devonian to the Late Carboniferous.
AI generated sharks? What are we doing?

My attempt at Spiny from Dinosaur King. Can you tell I was rewatching the show?
Why did Tyrannosaurus and some other theropods have such short arms? The answer likely lies in their heads!

Forgot to post this last week. I decided to draw the Allosaurus from ‘The Valley of Gwangi’ for our Podcast channel. Interpreted Gwangi as Allosaurus jimmadseni. Not my favorite piece, but I’m determined to post my progress, even if I’m not too happy with it lol.
I know I’m a few days late, but I gotta talk about it.
