A new team is strengthening behavioral health support and workplace safety across Denver Health. 🫶

Our new Psychiatric Consultation-Liaison Registered Nurse (C-L RN) team is now supporting inpatient front-line teams with behavioral health concerns and patient behavioral emergencies.

Available seven days a week, these experienced psychiatric nurses provide proactive and responsive support, including in-person rounding, behavioral health interventions, de-escalation, staff education and debriefing. They also support Denver Health’s De-Escalation of Agitation Response Team (DART), which provides 24/7 behavioral emergency response across our non-psychiatric inpatient units.

The team brings years of psychiatric nursing experience and specialized training in trauma-informed care, crisis prevention, verbal de-escalation and motivational interviewing.

More ultrasound appointments are coming to our Lowry Family Health Center. 👏

Beginning October 5, Denver Health is expanding ultrasound imaging at Lowry from two days to four days per week, making it easier for patients to access this important service. Appointments will be available from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

We had a great time at Montbello Alive last weekend, celebrating unity and connecting with community members, local nonprofits and community partners. 😊

Our Montbello team had the opportunity to share important resources and information about upcoming events, while enjoying plenty of good food, music, dancing and fun along the way! We were definitely feeling the love, with many attendees sharing how grateful they are for the trusted care Denver Health provides every day.

Five years of helping more patients get the care they need and return home sooner. 💙

Denver Health’s Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is marking five years of providing observation care within our Emergency Department. The APP-led unit gives patients who need more time for tests or treatment a place to be monitored before they can safely go home or need to be admitted to the hospital.

Since opening in 2021, the CDU has grown from caring for 2,829 patients in its first year to 8,865 over the past year, a 213% increase. Today, the unit has up to 15 beds and more than 30 care pathways designed around the needs of our patients.

Thank you to the incredible team that has helped build and grow the CDU over the past five years, improving care and helping more patients receive the care they need without a hospital stay. 👏

A platinum-level achievement for Denver Health! 💙

We are thrilled to share that we have earned the 2026 Colorado Hospital Breastfeeding Excellence – Platinum Award for successfully implementing eight of 10 recommended steps to strengthen breastfeeding support for patients and families. After earning Gold last year, this step up to Platinum reflects our continued quality improvement work as well as the dedication of teams and department leaders across Denver Health.
