In this case study about a next-generation cardiac SPECT system, Advanced Energy’s Ultimod configurable power supply delivered approximately 1,200 W from a compact 1U platform, with multiple isolated outputs, low ripple and 90% efficiency. Its quiet operation was particularly important because the PSU is positioned close to the patient during examinations.

Cardiac SPECT imaging, also called myocardial perfusion, is a non-invasive nuclear imaging test that uses a safe radioactive tracer to create 3D pictures of blood flow and heart function.

The result in this case was a reliable, configurable solution that helped reduce system cooling requirements, maintain a compact design and accelerate completion of the customer’s system.
