PRSA provides professional development, sets standards of excellence and upholds principles of ethics for its members.

Chartered in 1947, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is the world's largest and foremost organization of public relations professionals. PRSA provides professional development, sets standards of excellence and upholds principles of ethics for its members and, more broadly, the multi-billion dollar global public relations profession. We also advocate for greater understanding and adoption of public relations services, and act as one of the industry's leading voices on the important business and professional issues of our time. PRSA of Central Iowa is one of the 125 local chapter of PRSA across the country. Our members represent public relations professionals from the corporate sector, government, private business, education and non-profit organizations.

We have two pros from Wixted & Company speaking at this year's OctoPRfest! 🍂

Lauri Freking, Lead Trainer &Training Innovation Advisor, and Andy Garman, Senior Trainer and Communications Advisor, are leading a session titled, "Communicating Change: It Doesn’t Have to be Hard."

Continuous change is becoming business as usual, yet it is often perceived as negative, but the research tells a different story. This session dives into the research and the importance of how you communicate through change, and the impact it will have on acceptance, understanding, and trust. Participants will get an introduction to our Change Communication Blueprint, an audience-centered framework that helps leaders communicate strategically by focusing on what to say and when to say it. The session also examines the role of psychological safety as foundational to helping leaders strengthen culture and support their people through change.
