Every day, Rev. Dr. Fred Gaddy looked out from his church window at (tag) St. Paul AME Church and saw vacant lots that had become symbols of what neighborhoods had lost.
But he also saw possibility.
Working with AMOS, Elder Gaddy helped organize support for a sales tax that has raised $159 million to strengthen neighborhoods across Des Moines.

Sara knew that if her community wanted to address poverty, it first needed to understand it.
Working with a team from her parish, Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic and AMOS, she helped conduct a comprehensive study of the gaps in Ankeny's resources—creating a clearer picture of where help was needed most.

This weekend, AMOS will be attending the Lutheran Services in Iowa Global Greens International Market to do some voter registration! Stop by and say hello on August 1st from 9am-12:30pm.

As a child, Jason experienced homelessness after moving to Iowa.
So when he later saw families in Ames struggling with unsafe and unaffordable housing, he organized with AMOS and other (tag) Ames UCC leaders to do something about it—helping launch the Story County Housing Trust Fund Task Force, which now supports dozens of families each year with critical housing repairs and stability.
