The Des Moines Scottish Rite Consistory is both an organization and a landmark in Iowa’s Capitol city. As well, the building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983. Along with holding Scottish Rite meetings and events, the Scottish Rite Consistory is an event venue that has been providing rentals since 2006. The facility has hosted countless wedding ceremonies and receptions as well as banquets, parties and events for non profit organizations. This unique venue is located in the downtown area of Des Moines, Iowa. It has made its place in downtown as a historical and unique venue to hold special events! The Scottish Rite has 3 unique spaces to host various types of events-

The Tapestry Room is over 4600 square feet for your most formal gatherings. Upon entering the room, you will notice the old English decor including a fireplace. This room is ideal for receptions, cocktail parties and banquets that can seat up to 300. The Grand Banquet Room seats up to 450 people and is over 8000 square feet. The room features striking columns and arches. This room includes a stage. The banquet room is adjacent to the kitchen for any catering or food preparation needs. This space is located on the lower level of the building. The Consistory Auditorium is an eye-catching space. With seating for over 1,000 people, the Auditorium is ideal for wedding ceremonies and larger group events. The space features lights, sound and stage for a variety of functions. The Auditorium features a concert grand piano and theater pipe organ. It is located on the third level.
