The Body Project

𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗔𝗧 𝗕𝗜𝗫
The Body Project was back at the Quad City Times BIX 7 last weekend. There were nearly 9,000 finishers in this year’s race taking on the hilly course (over 400 feet of climbing over just 7 miles)! The weather cooperated with clouds, temperatures in the 70s, and manageable humidity. We applaud everyone's efforts! 🎉

𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗲
Rick battled a bit of a cranky hamstring going into his 7th BIX but he persevered. He finished in 54:29, 7th in his age group.

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗜𝘃𝗲𝘀
It was Mandy's first BIX. She finished in 54:08, 7th in her age group.

𝗧𝗶𝗺 𝗜𝘃𝗲𝘀
Tim took on his third Bix. He finished in 46:47, 15th in his age group.

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗯 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗲
Caleb took on his second BIX and finished strong in a time of 45:31.

𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
We would like to give a shout-out to clients and athletes who competed at this year's State Meet and provide highlights of some of the outstanding performances.

𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗳𝗽𝗮𝗽 & 𝗟𝗶𝘇𝘇𝘆 𝗠𝗰𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗻 - Olivia and Lizzy competed for Van Meter and were members of their runner-up 4x800 relay team. Lizzy also competed in the 800 and 1500.

𝗦𝘆𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿 & 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹 - Sydney and Avery competed for Waukee. Sydney ran as part of Waukee's 4x800 relay and in the 1500. This was her third season competing in the state track meet. Avery ran the 3000 and ended her junior season on a high note with a PR of 10:33.41

𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗲 & 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗹𝘇 - Vanessa and Ella made their State debuts and competed as part of Ankeny's 4x800 relay team. The Ankeny Girls earned their first State team trophy, 3rd place, since 1997.

𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵, 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹, 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗹𝗳𝗲 & 𝗟𝗶𝘇𝘇𝘆 𝗧𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘆 - This quartet competed for Dowling on their 4x800 in a season best time of 9:27.10. Frankie and Lizzy later ran legs on the DMR.

𝗞𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝘆𝗹𝘀 & 𝗔𝘆𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻
Kellen & Ayden competed for Waukee Northwest and were members of their runner-up 4x800 relay team. Kellen also ran 1:52.74 for 6th place in the 800, which was a new school record. Ayden also anchored their 4th place SMR team.

𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲𝗻, 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗲 & 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗲 -
This trio competed for Dowling and were members of their 7th place 4x800 team finishing in a time of 7:49.04. Nate also ran legs on the 4x400 and DMR teams. Will ran the open 800 finishing with a new PR of 1:56.49. Nicholas wrapped up his stellar career with a new 1600 PR of 4:17.51.

The Body Project was back to represent at this year's Market to Market Relay. This year's crew was small but MIGHTY! Congratulations to Nick, Rachel, Kelly, Brenna and MacCoy! The team finished 10th overall and 4th in the mixed (co-ed) division. Their total time was 8:12:50 for an avg. pace of 6:50 min/mile. 🔥

𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴.

𝗪𝗮𝘂𝗸𝗲𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝘆𝘀
Roy Verastegui, Kellen Tuyls, and Ayden Gabrielson finished 2nd with their 4x800 team setting a new school record in the process!

Ayden and Kellen also participated in the open 800 with Ayden finishing 5th in a new school record of 1:52.88!

𝗪𝗮𝘂𝗸𝗲𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀
Sydney Burrier and Avery Driscoll ran on Waukee’s 9th place 4x800 team. Sydney also ran in the 1500!

𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝗼𝘆𝘀
Nicholas Paulsen, Emmett Mathiasen, and Will Tice. Our 4x8 came in seeded 15th and finished 6th with a 13 sec season best. Nicholas later lowered his 1600 PR to 4:17!

We wish them the best of luck as they enter championship season.

Our clients are getting some spring in their step with races. Congratulations to each of them!

Dave Baitinger continues on his journey for a 5K in every Iowa county. He checked Black Hawk off his list with an age group win, 3rd place overall and finishing in a time of 20:14.

Rachel Morgan ran the St Paddy's Half Marathon in Des Moines finishing 3rd in her age group with a time of 1:53.

Ryan Clement traveled to the Windy City to run the Shamrock Shuffle 8K and finished in a time of 33:05 to kick off his season.
