Detroit Regional Chamber leaders met with members of Michigan’s congressional delegation in Washington, D.C. to advocate for federal action on key priorities, including reducing tariff impacts, protecting cross-border trade with Canada, safeguarding domestic supply chains through the Connected Vehicles Security Act, and preserving federal research investments.

MichAuto investor Nexteer Automotive hosted its annual Scholarship Golf Outing fundraiser, reinforcing the company's commitment to developing the next generation of talent. The initiative has generated more than $500,000 in support and enabled the distribution of over $250,000 in scholarships to date, including $35,000 awarded this year to high school, college, and skilled trades students, as well as Nexteer interns.

Automotive and mobility executives consistently point to workforce development as one of the most important factors shaping the state’s long-term competitiveness.

MichAuto attended the Mobility Innovation Exchange Summit and Centrepolis Accelerator Demo Day hosted by MichAuto investor, the Michigan Office of Future Mobility and Electrification.

The event featured insights on emerging mobility technologies, live drone demonstrations, and opening remarks from Justine Johnson, Chief Mobility Officer for the State of Michigan and a MichAuto Advisory Board member.

MichAuto Executive Director Glenn Stevens Jr. participated in a fireside chat, “Funding the Future: Investing in Michigan’s Next Economy,” sharing insights on the policies, investments, and partnerships needed to strengthen Michigan’s competitiveness and drive long-term economic growth.

Michigan must make innovation easier to commercialize and easier to scale. If the state can connect ideas to capital, talent, customers, and production capacity, it can remain a global center for automotive innovation.
