Project-U-Turn

We are grateful to have a partnership with Fishing in the Hood program. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of fishing, including equipment use, baiting, casting, fishing techniques, safety, and responsible participation in outdoor activities. While the experience is fun and engaging, and often becomes a friendly competition to see who can catch the most fish; it also creates intentional opportunities for learning and personal development.

National College Resources Foundation We are an educational enhancement agency with the mission to curtail the high school dropout rate and increase degree and/or certificate enrollment among under served and underrepresented students.

From all of us at Project U Turn, we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to every volunteer who showed up, served, encouraged, organized, worked, cleaned, greeted, supported, and helped make ROAD Day a success!

13 years ago, our programs had the opportunity to visit Ben Ross Academy in Warren, Michigan, where we hosted an inspiring school assembly with students during the school day.

Later, we brought our RubyGirl and It’s-N-The Male programs to the school through after-school programming, creating a space for young people to learn, grow, and be empowered.

A special thank you to Theresa Johnson for her vision, support, and efforts in helping make this opportunity possible. It’s amazing to look back and see how the work we started years ago continues to be part of our story! 💕🙌🏾

13 years later… the mission is still moving forward! 🚀✨

What is a lesson or skill you think teens need to learn?

Working together is a skill set our youth are learning in our summer work program. Sometimes doing things as a team can bring the best results.
