Immigrant and newcomer families bring so much knowledge, language, and culture to our schools. I joined Sarida Scott and Lloyd Jackson on Our State of Education to talk about recognizing those strengths. Check it out wherever you listen to podcasts. 🎙️

Someone say Road trip to Indiana?!

This weekend, the ABISA team traveled to Indianapolis to celebrate Senegalese Day 2026! This year’s theme: Taaru Senegal – Senegal’s Pride: Building Bridges, Creating Opportunities & Empowering Our Next Generation.

Two days of music, traditional dance, cuisine, fashion, art, and the true spirit of Teranga! Our oiler and deckhand also took the stage to speak on a panel about immigration.

A huge thank you to the Senegalese Association of Indiana for hosting us and welcoming us so warmly!
