On The Rise Bakery is sponsored by the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. On The Rise Bakery is a program of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Elliott Street, Detroit, MI 48207.
This venture is unique in that it is being run by members our ROPE (Reaching Our Potential Everyday) program. These are men who have recently been released from prison or have completed a substance abuse treatment program and desire to truly change their lives. Our retail storefront and cafe is located inside the Solanus Casey Center at 1780 Mt. The cafe is open to the public from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Every morning, bright and early, our bakers are working hard to make the delicious breads and baked goods available in our On the Rise Cafe! These hard-working men and women are participants in the ROPE program, which provides formerly incarcerated or those with substance use disorder a chance to develop baking and life skills before re-entry into the workforce. Each purchase at On the Rise directly supports this mission.
