September 23 marks the start of fall with the autumnal equinox!

On this day, the Earth’s rotational axis is tilted neither toward nor away from the Sun, which causes the length of day and night to be about the same across the globe.

From here, we’ll see a little less daylight each day as the Northern Hemisphere increasingly tilts away from the Sun until winter begins in December.

What can dissection teach us about the science of life?

During Insides Out, a weekend dissection series at the Michigan Science Center, Mi-Sci educators explore mammal anatomy through live dissections and explain how organ systems work.
